We beat North. A team coming last. But still, a win is a win.

Hopefully he can play well, as it is an area of need.

Is this the big fish Evans has promised us?
Yeah North late, but half a dozen clubs interested when he first flagged a switch.

Seems to be talked up as a 3rd tall defender, but his old reports was kicking bags. 6 years ago but still, time for our Alex Keath regen

Last time he played was 2018, so prob will take a re-introduction into footy. I prob wouldn't expect him to play any sort of footy until next year. Or maybe late this year.
When Wil Parker came to the pies in feb, he did a conditioning block and had to get up to speed on footy again, played his first vfl game I'd say in April

The Rioli deal

Gold Coast is prepared to give up two first-round selections for Richmond’s Daniel Rioli.

The problem is that one of them is an end-of-first-round selection that might drift into the mid-20s. The Suns have their own first-rounder, the Western Bulldogs’ first-rounder and the Kangaroos’ end-of-first-rounder (from the club’s AFL assistance package). So, the Tigers might be able to add two early picks to a draft hand that is currently 2, 22 and 34. But while Richmond would ask for the best of the Dogs’ or Suns’ draft picks, last year the Roos’ end-of-first-rounder fell as far as pick 29.

Is it fair to assume that this potential deal involving two first round picks will also include another Rioli coming our way? Richmond fans seem adament that the two Riolis really want to stay together so if we land Dan then logic would dictate that we're going to get Maurice Jr as well.

It's almost the reverse Alex Keath for us when we drafted him back in 2010 but he chose a career in cricket instead. Apparently Evans is 190cm tall. Not sure what position he played as a junior but 190cm doesn't quite cut it as a KPP these days. Hopefully we can give him a few VFL games before the end of the season and that should help him launch into his first AFL preseason over the summer months.

Funny seeing Tigers fans either take the offer asap or say they would never sell Rioli for anything
Personally i am torn

If it was for both the 1st rounders and richmond giving the equivalent value back in points with later picks then 100% YES
But the #24 is really a nothing pick for Richmond with the current picks we hold 2, 22, 34, 40, 41, 52, 58, 67, 71 ]
Looking like Baker could be gone for roughly #15 and Graham as a free agent a good chance another pick around mid 20's
Richmond will probably have 5 picks inside 30 and 3 possibly 4 inside 20

Very torn

Ok I’m back on the LDU train

We need to lose some more salary.
Ainsworth gone?
I’d be looking at our midfield mix and see who’s replaceable.
Rowell and Anderson stay.

Rowell for getting his hands dirty.
Anderson for his dash and ability to kick a goal

Do you think the Tigers would release him for that?
It’s only the Suns that allow players to walk out for peanuts when they are contracted.

Rioli is not worth the price that has been mentioned, not even close and that’s why Cameron will do it, he’s convinced he is ahead of the game ( see the Bowes trade) and no one has woken up to the fact he’s in reality a bit “slow”

Draft picks in here are so overrated. What does a 18yo kid give us next year? Walter and Rogers where supposedly ready to play AFL last year and both have struggled mightly at the level. Rioli walks straight in and would be our best ball mover off half back by a mile. Go watch the game against Freo or St Kilda again if you think we don't need that right now. We cannot move the ball from D50. How is a an 18yo kid or 2 who will be behind a shit load of players going to move the needle now? I don't want to wait another 4 or 5 years from them to get to the level.

A few good LOLs on the Richmond board, while many see pick 8 and 20 as a great deal some are talking about 8,10 and Luko with some late picks coming back to us. The thinking is because we gave up pick 2 for Weller we would 100% do this deal.

****ing spare me

Still taking Jarrod Berry as a RFA over LDU, if I had the choice. Big fan of LDU, but he got the same role as Anderson.

We need a senior defensive body which Touk, hasn’t been able to provide all year.

Or maybe …. Touk can just do it himself.

Jarrod Berry and Rowell same same though?
We need pace and high efficiency

Yeah bit of the same same, but I’d rather Rowell be hunting the ball, very good ball user inside.

Cripps & Hewett/Kennedy
Dunkley & Neale
Wines & Drew
Rowbottom & Mills

I think it can work well, 2 slower, smart IQ accountable mids.

Ideally It starts this week with Touk.

Our own supporters are enabling those expectations if they come and look at this thread and some would have.
