You can't trade in a forward pocket, a back flank (2?), a wing, and an x factor mid ready made players. A) Not that many players want to come here, and B) We don't have the capital

Just do what we did last year.
Turn pick 6 into freos pick 9 and 17 for instance.
Half the first Rd picks will move hands before draft night.
So something will eventuate.

Then we can use 1 pick on Rioli and 1 on points for Leo or another trade etc

6 used to secure a first next year plus points this year to secure Leo

In such an even competition, i think that's more reason to protect your assets, not trade away your pick 6. I'm not gonna blow up yet til i see what comes with rioli but i feel it in my loins.

The Prestia trade was actually Pick 6 for Prestia and Pick 24.
So something like a mid teens first rounder overall.

We will pay more than that for Rioli, but doubt it will be Pick 6 alone. If the Tigers do load up on first rounders with the exodus, then they won't really need later picks. On the other hand, this is the year for us to use late 2nds and some 3rd rounders to match Lombard b/c it will be more expensive next year.

Really feels like we will go into the draft with no picks inside 30 (after free agency compo), Rioli and Noble, enough list spots and draft picks in the 30-45 range to match a bid for Lombard, and probably a future 2nd round pick somewhere. Teams want picks inside 30 this year, so we should be able to get good value for trades. Then draft an academy player late, and upgrade rookies to fill out list spots.
