Bloody hell the debacle over Geria's contract and transfer fmd this club finds so many ways to screw things up.

The fact that the club rushed a contract to make him stay and clauses put in (not thinking that he could be called up during the Transfer window) that we got Zero $$ for him! I guess the club wasn't to know at his age that he'll be called up for the Socceroos again but still we should have gotten a transfer fee for him.

There was no talk of any contract debacle involving Jason Geria's new contract on any of the podcasts you quoted.


You're also putting out there that Geria wanted to leave when he signed a 2 year contract. Which is absurd.

I have simply quoted transfermrkt which list all incoming transfers for Albrex Niigata in the current transfer window.


It is a fact that transfermrkt lists two free transfers incoming for Albrex Niigata.


It is also a fact that Geria is not one of the two players listed as a free transfer.




If you reckon some bloke on a podcast knows better - go ahead and knock yourself out.



I'll stick to transfermrkt as it previously lists a transfer fee being paid for Geria the last time he was sold to a J League club.

Incorrect. Geria's transfer fee is listed as unknown. His previous transfer fee to JEF United is also still listed as unknown even though we know there was a fee, and it was rumored to be $800k.


I have simply stated the fact that transfermrkt does not list Jason Geria as a free transfer. As you can see they do list incoming free transfers of other players that have also just joined.




As you can clearly see, the top two players are listed as free transfers.

The thing is if Bloom does buy 20% it goes straight to 777/their adminstrators.

The club still doesnt receive anything initially.

However by bringing in Bloom in, the board can lean on him for further investment and working capital.

Bloom, if he were to be brought in, would bring in signifcant expertise in football operations. He also has a network of clubs and is a smart, savvy guy. He's not some billionaire through state oil money or inheritance.


He of course will want an eventual return on his investment but he also isn't afraid to invest in his clubs either.


The talk I have heard is right now the discussion is only about 777 shares because they have no choice but to sell so their administrators will have to accept whatever deal they get.


I do wonder if Bloom were to buy their shares would he also inherit the agreement that 777 had with other shareholders to eventually acquire 70% of the club.

Transfermrkt is generally pretty reliable for this stuff, although there's no absolute guarantee here on transfer data they publish.




Either way, the amount we are likely to have gotten anyway (market value is 500k but due to his age a figure of 200k has been bandied about) doesn't compensate us for losing a club great like Geria.

It's really not rocket science. We haven't terminated Geria's contract. We agreed a transfer. Transfermrkt also specifically lists which players A.Niigata have joined on a free transfer which is in the post you just quoted.

When we let players go for free, we terminate their contract and say off you go.
