That's good for the comp.

I was fairly against NZ expansion but there's so few candidates these days. but they could be onto something here: great strip, decent name, and an owner with a pretty good track record (and a heap of money).

It's just a pity there's no decent, centralised stadium in Auckland that's not massive.

This has got to be peak rubbing it in your nose. Auckland off to a good start kicking off the rivalry :tearsofjoy:

The rule change still hasn't been cleared by Football Australia - so... They could potentially do something hilarious and block it.

Well the fact that they are considering reviewing the rule before Auckland come in says it all 😒
Honestly we should embrace Paulsen going to Auckland. Auckland making this move is telling not only to the Nix that they ain't gonna take being a little brother and happy to be the aggressor in the rivalry. But also a warning to the A-League that they mean business. They ain't gonna let morals and emotions dictate what is best for there squad and ambitions.

Nah Id keep the rule as is. If we start allowing clubs to use other clubs in their ownership group to skirt round buying rival players from A-League clubs it'll be a huge advantage to those multi club group owned clubs.

Maybe.. even if the rule stays at least Auckland are trying to be aggressive in their approach being new comers to the league they are making a statement.

Nothing wrong with them being aggressive in their approach.

Everything wrong with a change of rules to allow a transfer to take place that Wellington Phoenix would not have agreed to if they were aware about the rule change.

The bit that frightens me is looking at the efficacy of the salary cap. If they get rid of the cap then I am done with the league. It is just going to be City, Auckland, Vuck, and Sydney running the show. The rest of us might as well not even exist.
