Fair point. I don’t honestly know what happens if we host the Swans. We would be losing home ground advantage (even though they beat us at Giants Stadium this year) though. I assume AFL would take your view, as that is consistent with their view on Geelong playing MCG in the finals against the bigger Melbourne clubs?

Whilst it only drew 25,572 it shows that an AFL game has been played there recently.

It’s also interesting that Swans and GWS have met in finals 3 times in a decade, when Freo and WCE have never met in finals after 3 decades.

Yeah it could be a 45,000 type crowd for mine. The AFL would’ve hoped for 60,000 + at the start of the year!

That crowd was disappointing, but still 5k over Showgrounds. They should play Giants v Swans there every Easter. Make an event of it.

You would think that the Swans supporters would ensure it’s nearly a lock out? They can pull 10-15K in Melbourne to help cover the dons fans who are done?

Because Essendon doesn't bottom out. They're good for 8-12th every year, usually spending half the season in the 8.

Nah Stadium Australia has lost its event feel. Used to be hype around going there around the turn of the century when it was built and for several years after, but not anymore.
