I feel like the Essendon v Carlton crowd might draw around 600-700 less than we hope (from Essendon reserved seat members) purely from people heading away over the long weekend. Keen to hear other peoples thoughts.

We can over complicate these things. So many factors. Likely weather and a Bombers loss Sunday the only real factors this game. MCC and AFL will be sold out. Weather permitting, unless a really lacklustre showing Sunday, it should be 86,000+.

If you are worrying about 600-700 less than you'd hope you are in a really good spot. Ie going from 86,900 to 86,200 is not that bad.

IMO, both games are going to draw between 85,000 - 88,000 and it will be a great spectacle either way. If King's Birthday was Category 2 rather than Category 1 MCC, the Members would be bursting and it could get above 90,000.

Can we actually realistically get 90,000+ excl public holiday for H&A?

I get the KB game, being the public holiday and daytime helps. I just wonder if they actually don’t release 2-3,000 standing room and the actual max crowd is actually 93-94k, almost unachievable due to reserved seat no shows etc.

Reserved seat members are the reason games struggle to get to 90,000 more than standing room. There are heaps of people that never use their reserved seats and just pay for the GF guarantee.

Standing room will be full at both games next week. I think Essendon Carlton is more a chance to hit 90,000 because there is no work the next day.

Surely BallaratBulldog is pumped? This definitely means the dogs fans are engaged and ready to come in strong numbers!

Even last week against the swans there was appreciation for the fight despite being down to 2 on the bench and still almost won.

By no means was last night anywhere near perfect particularly to start but there’s some growing belief that there is a pulse and the wheel could turn with some young players doing well.

I think a strong crowd could show for Friday Night vs Brisbane.

Pretty sure there are other seats not released as yet… Billy ray the best expert on GC crowds.
Seats still available back quarter of level 2.
Depending on weather it could push 21.
I think it will be 19.
Suns have had a deal for members to bring a friend. And club has also emailed members to get there early.

Ok that’s a good rollup, not an ideal slot, trains out of action for people coming from Brisbane etc. hopefully weather holds up.
