Do we trade our FF to get Shanahan or just hope that Gerreyn falls to us?

Other clubs will offer too much for 28 I doubt we can get it.
But id try and trade future 2nd and something to the Eagles and push for 30 (maybe not enough) could get Dodson or gerryn there (I doubt the dogs go tall). I doubt gerryn gets all the way to 42.

North just giving shit away and im sure will be up for a PP next year.

Must be nice,

Go Catters

If North lose LDU as a Free Agent now what pick would they get as compo? Comp picks are tied to existing picks for that club arent they?

No it's the original position.
Eg if North finish 16th Richmond have pick 3 but pick 4 would be ldu compo to North.

I know you don't love him but I've liked Jack Whitlock since his second half of the year. Glad to see him still there, definitely would offer more versatility than dodson.

I feel like he's too inconsistent gives me Mitch brown/John butcher vibes.

Rather gerryn or Shanahan I'd even prefer sims.

North Melbourne are a club run by genuine morons. Trading their pick 1 next year (probably top 10) for pick 27...That is terrible.
Norths next pick was 60.
They identified a need and got a F2 back.

A risk? Sure. But I love it.

So many of you just treat trading and draft like SuperCoach.
What if you had to pick a team in SuperCoach right now and could only trade out 3 players per year? I bet you'd be brilliant.

I thank god every day that people like you arent involved with the club.

I for one think North will be a big improver next year, but I can't see them getting out of the bottom 6. Don't know much about Whitlock but I wouldn't be thrilled if we were doing trades like that.
Fair.

They got the mids and ruck.
Decent tall forward .

Brought in helmet and parker .

I think Whitlock will be ok. But what I watched it was very Vanilla. I was expecting more from the way both brothers were talked up.

We're left with:

Pick 42 - previous players we've taken at this pick were Matt Spencer, Nathan Vardy, and Nathan Kreuger.
Pick 50 - Dan McKenna, Jacob Kennerley, Cam Taheny.
Pick 70 - Matt Hayball.
Pick 80 - N/A

Please adjust your expectations accordingly.

If they wanted that they should have just taken tauru at 2 who is a better player than Whitlock anyway.

Pull the trigger and trade a future first for Shanahan.

Knowing us we’ll trade a future first and pick up dodson who will never play if Conway comes on and Edwards will then be rendered a wasted pick

Knowing us we'll trade our future first and get the best player in the draft.

This trade is going to be very funny in 12 months when they've traded pick 5 for pick 27 and a pick in the 30s

Can't believe how many hands this trade would have had to go through, yet no one stopped it.

They have not shown much improvement even in their losses. Take Adelaide for example, they finished bottom four but had a style which tested a lot of teams. Even West Coast showed a lot more than North Melbourne and they have considerably less talent on the park.

North Melbourne will do well just to get to 8 wins and that may still only be good enough for a bottom six finish.

I can't see any dramatic spike like we saw from Hawthorn. Hawthorn are a proven commodity and know how to get it right. North are an embarrassment to the competition.
