Every team in the competition will have played one game, most two games , by the time the ball is bounced for our game.Pretty much every media pundit/expert/coach has agreed that playing a game first is definitely an advantage, yet here we are, with Freo playing the last game of the round against a side that has already played. On 360 the other day they ran through an alternate fixture where teams that have not played do not get matched against teams that have. Seemed fairly simple to me.
You get labeled a conspiracy theorist by suggesting that the AFL is run by Vic centric sycophants that don't give a flying f##k about the fairness of the competition, or clubs they deem irrelevant like Fremantle.
Yet here we are, in round 1, questioning the integrity of the competition. And the circus continues.
This round 1 team is not Young enough.Ryan Pearce Cox
Walker OMac Clark
Sharp Serong Johnson
Freddy Treacy Emmett
Sonny Amiss Jackson
Reidy Brayshaw Fyfe
Aish JOM Switta Raz
Sub: Brodie.
This is kind of my dream team sans Swaggy. Most of my bench is multi positional, Jackson gets to go ruck when Reidy needs a break and Brodie still gets a look in. Height and speed in the backline, strength in the midfield and all the right names in the forward line. Wingers I'm still, and possibly forever will be, iffy on.
Good mix of youth and experience I think.
Coops gotta do his time at Peel for a couple of weeks before he gets a look in. Maybe round 3.
I'm almost 99.9% positive the actual team won't look anything like this because what the hell would I know.
apparently busy getting another unbalanced tattoo on his other armLachie Neale maybe out???
Oh Shoot! Yep good spot mate, I stuffed up. Let me edit it.This round 1 team is not Young enough.
JL with Rhino in an interview yesterday said they want to keep the structure of 2 Rucks and 3 key forwards, so they will either go with Reidy main ruck and Jack backup, or Jacko main ruck and Treacy back up. (with another key forward filling in for Treacy).
So selection will come down to Reidy, or Tabs/Voss as 3rd tall.
That’s gross.Nothing to lose, so based on JLo's comments and Ellis' rumours, I'm guessing Jackson to ruck with Treacy backup and Voss coming into the forward line. LJ will leave OMac for dead around the ground and get involved like an extra mid, and Voss will take the heat off Amiss so he doesn't get double teamed. It's what I would do anyway. Tabs and Reidy are too far off the pace. We will likely already be taking Cox and Walker in underdone if they play. If either don't, I expect ourOMac and Hughes to come in. Or my favourite, Swit back for walker and Coops to come in at HF. Ras as sub. Looking forward to seeing how right or wrong I am.
