List Mgmt. 2024 Draft - Post Trade Period Edition

My thoughts is currently, we are happy with our situation. We know we will trade out Pick 24 for a 2025 F1 so can sit back and wait as desperate clubs come and knock at our door.

We aren’t the ones who started the chatter on Pick 2. We aren’t desperate to trade up even though we think it “would be nice”.

It has to be compelling. There’s no reason to trade otherwise.

As certain clubs become more desperate to rectify mistakes they’ve made, they will come with better offers closer to November 20th.

That’s my take on the current situation.

Reckon there’s any chance of 10 + 11 for 2? North could potentially get both Armstrong and Trainor (who’s a north supporter) at that spot… potentially even Tauru.

1, 2 & 6 would be unbelievable - Lalor, FOS + Jagga/Smilie/Draper/Langford sets our midfield up for the next 10 years.

Edit - I’d personally love Lalor/FOS/Jagga

It’s how we ‘slid’ from pick 35 to 40 last draft and picked up a couple of F3 selections in the process of just a 5-pick slide … because teams knew the actual player they were trading for and paid a tidy premium to get them - and this was in a normal quality draft for picks in the late 30’s!

It’s kind of crazy isn’t it the way future 2nds and 3rds will get thrown around to move up and select a player but during the trade period the clubs will spend 10 days haggling over whether pick 35 or 45 gets a player to their club….

It’s definitely on we will trade our 6 and our next pick for nth Mel pick 2 to get O’Sullivan and Lalor then we get Jobe Shanahan Jonty Faull Dodson the SA Ruckman and possibly another midfielder

I honestly reckon 10 & 11 for 2 is actually a decent deal for both clubs. But it seems they're desperate to offload their F1 so trying to cash in with a top 8 pick.
