Way too tall

Awful. Three KPPs, a ruck, two HBFs, a HFF and ONE mid.

Allan and Travaglia might make mids. At the moment they're HBFs who aren't great by foot. One of them is plenty.

Individually the players might be okay but the mix is terrible.

He's trying to put the wind up North with the Tauru pick, no point trading with the Saints if we take him. If North really want Tauru and don't trade then they'll have to miss out or use pick 2 on him which would suit us.

I get the idea of building our spine with a KPF, Ruck/Forward, Ruck and a KPD, but I think we can fill 3 of those spots through trading and FA. We really do need a quality Ruck/Forward, of the talls probably the highest priority.

What we're crying out for is quality users of the ball all over the ground, a bit of speed attached would be handy, players like Lindsay, Berry, Oliver and Hotton should be high on our hit list.

*Edit.....I'm not sold on Allan whatsoever, his role when playing mid was purely defensive, once he got the ball he tears off like a hairy goat, there's not a great deal of nous in his disposals after that. Travaglia sort of fits the same bill, they both are good picks but not where we have ours, we really have the opportunity of picking they eyes out of that 2nd tier of players, especially after the Saints and Dees have had their snouts in the trough.

Just let NorF over pay for Tauru

They are a deluded lot that believe pick #2 is Harley Reid or Sheezel

Just offer them #6 + #13 after we get that from Port and walk away for #2 + F1
take or leave deal
I don't think that trading 6 is an option, hasn't C4 mentioned that 6 & 24 are off the table?

I'd be happy with the outcome here. We're starting at rock bottom and getting a potential spine in place isn't as bad as some would believe.

Not sure a third tall is a necessity, especially when we have Lefau and Bauer The Age has linked us to Jasper Alger with the Bulldogs and GWS also keen.
I like both Lefau & Bauer but Lefau is 26 & Bauer has only played the 7 games.
You can hardly say we dont need tall / medium forwards with how our current stocks look.

Lynch 32yo - 8 games in 2 years.
Lefau* 26yo - 10 games
Kosi 24yo - 62 games
Bauer* 22yo - 7 games in 2+ years
Gray* 21yo - 12 VFL games
Fawcett 19yo - 3 VFL games.

4 of them OOC end of 2025.

How's our forward line depth going to look in 12 months let alone 2-3 years?

The link to Bo Allan has be nervous and confused. I really don’t rate him and wouldn’t have him as a top 20 prospect.

Can someone who likes him please explain what it is they like? Or at least link me to a nice highlights package. Every one I watch leaves me more and more disappointed.

He’s athletic but we aren’t recruiting for a decathlon. His poor ball use is impossible to ignore.

There are such better prospects (and other priorities we need to address) at 10 + 11.

Let’s just hope it’s posturing I guess..?

We might be interested incase he slides to 18 / 20

Cant see Richmond taking him with the first 11

Or maybe if we know Melbourne are into him maybe trying to suck them into taking him at #5
what a dream that would be

Ohh i wasn’t aware that Morro was cam hicks? Or is that just a joke haha?

We need to consider the likely picks in 2025, which is a fair chance to influence selections this draft. I’ve got no idea of next year but it’d be a miracle if we don’t have a top-3 pick. If a mid is likely next year then taking an extra prime KPP in this draft if we really like them when the chance presents makes sense.

It’s like the Roos … bottom 2 for 5 x years straight and are still crud in the KPP department as they’ve just taken midfielders and galore.

I’m not saying we ignore mids, and I think we will take mids with picks 1 and 6 - but don’t be surprised if we also go KPP heave whilst there are some great prospects at both ends of the ground available.

A list build takes 3-4 years .. not one.

I was criticising the selection of flankers. And the ruck. And maybe one too many KPPs.

I know how rebuilds work.

if we are taking key position players it needs to be key forwards imo. We haven't replaced jack and need to replace lynch very soon.

Think we have enough options (shuffling players) for defenders on the list that we can wait and target quality in the forward line.

gibcus - injury concerns but looks quality
blight - make or break year coming up
miller - eh not the answer
young - 1 good year one average year
balta - prime time and quality to build around. not a forward.

forwards:
lynch (need to replace with quality)
sampson (prefer him as a 1st ruck)
fawcet (year 2 so needs work)
bauer (make or break, undersized)
kozi (back up ruck, would prefer him as a kpd)
grey (make or break year coming up)
