In all seriousness guys for where your list is at I can't believe that Jagga and Draper are not being mentioned as pick 1.

Both are dynamic players ready to go.

Jagga a 25+ disposal distributor who's slipperer than a squid.

Draper a hard nut accumulator and tackling machine. He showed every list manager how soft Smile is when they both went for that loose ball.

FOS is the next best choice being an all rounder. Could ease in at half back for a year or 2 before hitting the mid/forward role.

Lalor at one is a risk (too much talk about his ceiling). He is 2 years away from being fit enough to run out a game playing half forward let alone midfield.

Langford is slower than a Roman Sun Dial. You would only take this player at 6 or beyond on the proviso you have picked up Draper or Jagga to offset his lack of pace.

A combination of Lalor and Langford (which some of you have suggested ) would be an unmitigated catastrophe. Opposition teams would transition faster than a prairie fire with a tailwind.

Thank you in advance for the expected witty comments.

Full season highlights (with a few bonus bits from season 2023) for the mystery man Finn O'Sullivan. Might be the most talented of the 2024 crop but injuries prevented him from showing his full potential. If he slides on draft night he could make some recruitment teams look foolish in a year or two.

The optimal scenario for me seems to be that we should:

1) Get as many picks within the top 8 as possible, to target as many of the best mids as we can.

2) Position ourselves to get players who slide to anywhere around the pick 15-22 mark.

Reason being, there seems to be a large group including players such as Hotton, Berry, Trainor and Shanahan who could still be on the board in the late teens.

I know that players such as Lindsay, Travaglia, Armstrong and Allen will likely be off the board in the at that point as opposed to at picks 10 and 11, however I do not see a significant difference in talent in that group compared to the aforementioned.

‐--------------------------------------------------------------

If we are somehow able to move picks 10 and 11 to get something like 1, 2 and 6, and then still have several picks such as 16/17?, 18 and 20, I think that would be a terrific scenario for us to take say 6 players.

3 mids within 6, then take I small speedy type (Berry, Hotton, Dattoli, Hannaford) and 2 talls, Shanahan, Trainer, Faull.

Richmond swap pick 10 to Port for 13 & 29
Richmond swap picks 11 & 23 to GWS for 15 & 16
Richmond swap picks 13 & 15 to Roos for pick 2 (remember Carlton got pick 3 for 12 & 14 reckon we can offer North something similar and if that isn't enough throw in pick 29)
Richmond go to the draft with picks 1, 2, 6, 16, 18, 20 & 24.

Thought the same about Matthew Lloyd today. Superficial thoughts/arguments being broadcast to an audience that wouldn’t know any different.

If we had pick 8 and the Saints had 18 and 20, would you do that trade?
Depends what you need. Depends how you rate that 8 - 20 group.

Looks good for us.

So North’s first pick is 13, which becomes about 16.

Doesn’t sound like the sort of thing they’re after. Doubt their chosen player gets to that pick.
