From what your hearing is Lalor a lock at 1?

I’m not across that sorry. Media reports would indicate that he is.

I agree with you. I just cannot work out what the deal outcome will be by including Port and GWS in the negotiations for pick 2. Surely has to include 6, but C4[2]Yo`DooR has said 6 & 24 are off the table. And what benefit will be there for each club, as none of the clubs will want to give up too much for what they are getting?
Can’t see us getting 2 unless 6 is involved, unless future picks are going to be accepted by one or some of the clubs involved, and I’d think that’s unlikely given this is a deep and reportedly good draft.
Involving the other clubs is strange for me, because if we ultimately agree to give up 6, we would surely just offer 6, and say 18 directly to North? Bit to play out yet I guess
FWIW I haven’t heard anything since and my last update (via Port) is that it’s made increasingly difficult because of 6 and 24 not being on offer.

Could mean it’s dead? Could be angling for another club to get involved? I’ll keep you posted.

Tell them to get stuffed then and take Tauru at pick #2 and come back begging us to take their F1
agree

RFC needs to stand firm.

enough is enough and I think other clubs feel RFC is a wallflower so they attempt to *******e us everytime

6 and 10 or 11 for 2 is ****ing outrageous

we could have got pick 3 and forced North to select who they want at 2

5-10 is a slide Bro.
You have a very strange definition of a slide. It’s the range he’s been slated for some time.
Oct Power rankings:
Cal Twomey ranked 8, previous month 7
Rookie Me Central 7, previous month 8
ESPN 10, previous month 7

For good measure, throw in FoxSports @8 and Dylan Alexander @7

I've known this guy since our kids went to childcare, kindie and primary school together. Used to be really close, drifted since different high schools. He's a straight shooter and I've wiped the floor with him at cards plenty of times. He even said their night is basically Camporeales and they're hoping it goes their way for their 1st pick but pretty happy with the evenness of the top handful but wasn't giving anything away. Once their pick 3 is selected their draft is basically over waiting for bids and he had no ulterior motive to bull💩 me.

Hey it's all a crap shoot. Nobody knew Fyfe, Bont, Cripps would turn out having the careers they had. Who knows which teams get most focussed on and ignored by our recruiters. Wasn't long ago it seemed we'd basically only take kids from Northern Knights, St Pats, WA team? Ellis and Menadue flops from Western Jets ruled them out. We started taking Oakleigh kids. Always wondered if our recruiters bother watching Geelong Falcons as they're top 3 for most kids drafted and don't think we've ever taken any?
I've had a similar relationship with a Blues club recruiter - this sounds legit opinion to me. Even the recruiters don't always know who the club will actually draft, but they all have a good handle on the strengths and weaknesses of the potential picks, and they usually call it like they see it.

I remember my mate being really keen on Caleb Marchbank in the 2014 draft and being really pissed when the Blues traded the #7 pick away to GWS because he know they wouldn't get him (he was happy when they got him as damaged goods a few years later) He also told me he wouldn't touch a certain 2015 high draft pick from country Victoria as he didn't believe he had the mental makeup to have a long career (which he sort of got half right) - they're not infallible, but they have a much better idea than us punters.

Like a lot of mock drafts, they have us trading out a lot of our picks, the Essendon one is probably the most outrageous

Of the 3 scenarios he put up for pick trades I think that the GWS and Saints one is most likely and it's interesting that the reason for doing it is to target Lindsay, I reckon this kid could well be one of the top performers out of the whole pool.

6 & 18 isn't a chance of happening and it's more his North bias coming in to play here. He has Smillie sliding a lot but we would have to be odds on to take him at 6, if North are locked out of splitting 6 then they're a good chance of taking Tauru at 2, it was good enough for GWS to target Cadman, so chances are that North will pull the trigger. If they do then Jagga and Smillie are the most likely to be available, reckon we'd still take Smillie but you never know.

The Saints, after their move with GWS might then take Jagga, then the Dees come into play and Bo Allan does look like a good fit for them after taking Langford.

Now up to us, with all the high end mids off the board I doubt that the Dons would want to get in, so our pick is live as is the next pick, there's a whole raft of options here as we have the choice of the best of the next tier and I really don't know who Hartley would have in mind, but I'm sure that whoever is taken with those 2 picks will be the next highest on the board.

Essendon's best chance of getting back in the first round might be the Saints if the mooted GWS trade goes ahead.

so why are we not trading up for a Saints pick???

why are those at RFC so reactive?

Nothing to do with his height. Lachie Neale is shorter but has core and hip strength to break tackles.
The question is whether Jagga can put on the size and strength to apply defensive pressure to others and stand up or maintain balance when physical pressure is applied to him and reaches him far more often than in juniors.
Other prospects have different questions on them. Depends on how you weigh the risks.
He has the same physique as Zac Butters in his draft year. He turned out alright.

Jagga hasn’t had a single preseason at a professional club and people are questioning whether he’d put on the size required to play afl football? Seems a bit unfair, and that’s ignoring the fact that he has already played against men in the VFL and still dominated. If you watch his interviews you’d see how professional he is - I have zero doubt he’d put in the work to be a star at the next level.

Richmond swap pick 10 to Port for 13 & 29
Richmond swap picks 11 & 23 to GWS for 15 & 16
Richmond swap picks 13 & 15 to Roos for pick 2 (remember Carlton got pick 3 for 12 & 14 reckon we can offer North something similar and if that isn't enough throw in pick 29)
Richmond go to the draft with picks 1, 2, 6, 16, 18, 20 & 24.

So in a very deep and even draft we’ve traded 10, 11 and 23 for 2 and 16.

No thanks.

If we can do 1, 2, and 6 then get lalor, FOS and Jagga that would be amazing. 3 lower isk, high return players who could be a fantastic midfield for a decade +. After that it is building a solid squad around them
That’s my dream scenario for this draft: Lalor/FOS/Jagga. Midfield set for next 10 years and get to learn under stars like Taranto

Just spoke to a mate who speaks to Lalor and Finn. They both really want to play together put it that way. Know means squat overall but man would they be deadly.

I’m still on this train. Even if it’s costs us Pick 6

Give me Lalor and FOS

I wouldn’t be surprised if no trade eventuates. I just don’t see Richmond parting with 6 nor north accepting 10 + 11. Just doesn’t seem like a trade benefits either club - especially if the rumours are true that Jagga could slip to 6..

Carlton will take whoever is left out of FOS/Smith at 3.
Interesting. As a Carlton fan yourself, do you think Smith is a good fit? Feels like he is very similar to Walsh. Thought you'd want a more dynamic/explosive type.
