Be careful he might wake the gimp up pulp fiction style
ice cold vbs with chickadees, au falcon / aussie muscle chat, and maccas is all you'll get at my joint

unless auntie comes over and stabs a campaigner

The advantage of using an early pick on a KPF (that hits) means you don’t need to worry and burn future picks attempting to get one

So if Armstrong is going to be AFL quality we should take him so we don’t end up in the position the Kangroos are in now where they’re possibly doing poor trades to try and balance their list to get KPPs

The FA KPF delivered a flag or 2, but now getting paid $ 1.5m to play 4 games last 2 years and delivered a spoon. The team has been hopeless without Lynch.

I like the idea of young Cadman but no guarantee he improves us any more than a draftee this year.

Use a pick on a KPF.
True. People banging on about getting Cadman. Will prob cost 2 first round picks. Better off just getting Armstrong at pick 11 (if he is still available).

Any other Tom Gross fans in here? Read somewhere he plays a bit like Rory Sloan. Like the look of his highlights.

If we take Lalor / Smilie / Reid with our first few picks, I wouldn’t hate us using one of our last two picks on Gross.

He strikes me as a player who will do the unheralded acts and could compliment those other names nicely. Really like the cut of his jib.

Anyone know what kind of athlete he is or how he tested at the combine? Maybe a Lambert time role is his go, appears to have clean hands

Thats it in a nutshell. Use one of our 4 top end picks on the best kpf in the draft OR burn 2 top end picks minimum on Cadman who lets remember is still only showing raw potential and basically forfeit a draft like the TT/Hopper scenario in the midst of a rebuild.

Think I'll take the gun kid and keep the future picks thanks.

Hmmm.....

Blues sack Ratten. Saints also fall into the rat trap.

Blues sack Stephen Silvagni. Then Stephen becomes a saint.

In the 80's Blues sack Wow Jones. Saints invested in Wow Jones.

2020's Saints say hold my Carlton Draft dodger.

Blues sack Stocker & Dow. Via trades & Free Agency Saints add them to Zac Jones to complete their Dow Jones Stock portfolio.

Blues sack Carroll. Saints say it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, we are going to need Carroll.

When the Saints were asked is there a paton here, they of course replied, yep, we've got one of those as well.

Galt, McConville, Marcou, Sheldon, Jezza, Perovic, Kourkoumelis, Rice, Devonport, Hamill, Lappin.

I’ve heard the saints want gws picks 15 & 16 so they can pair the Whitlocks. Trading pick 8 not sure what else is being offered.
Yes to the first part. But doubt they are our targets.

Believe we want 2 of Lindsay Trainor Hynes Allan (obviously likely to land the first 3 not Allan at this pick)

Really good conversation here being had about the difficulty of developing a top gun KPF

It just emphasizes why the free agency must be utilized and no expense spared when going after a gun KPF like Cadman (trade) & JUH as a free agent.

We will have banked a massive amount of cap space 2025 and beyond and this is where we need to spend our chips
Let Cadman know we have big $$$$ waiting for him when he is out of contract end of 2026 8 years $10 mil
JUH do the same as a free agent when he becomes available and even Sam Darcy

We can accumulate mids to build the team and finish it off with the known fowards like the above
This does not mean ignore KPP talent available but dont rely on them to be the Saviour when ready

Don’t mind him, he played a great game against SA or WA in the Nationals, where he came out after halftime and had 11 possessions playing midfield. looked as good as anyone that day, run/carry was super impressive.
The knock on him is his disposal by foot, but from the little I’ve seen it’s more his decision making, he does tend to blaze away. Probably something that’d improve in an AFL system .
He’d certainly be a good pick up, if you could land him with one of those later picks.

I think Draper ends up a Saint. Cal has always had him around that 7-8 mark from memory.

I think if we added to that top 4 it would be as follows;

5. Langford
6. Smillie
7. Draper
I wonder if it played out that way whether we'd be keen to get 8 off the Saints to get ahead of the Dees for Armstrong?

Who said that

Had to do some digging

He has the potential to be the next Plugger and someone will take a punt on him and a lot earlier than most expect. I would have no trouble taking him between 5 and 10 if I needed a forward.

So which one of our 8 rookies win the Norwich rising star?

I’ll say Harvey Langford
Probably someone from previous draft. Otherwise Jagga or Draper will likely hit the ground running
Was going to say Nate Caddy but he’s played 10 games.

Less than 10 is the rule I think

But they drafted Sonsie. Who was known to have attitude problems so I call bullshit. They know that they are kids and they can change otherwise they wouldn’t have touched dusty or Sydney stack or Sonsie.
Probably depends on what you’re giving up to get them.

You may be right, it may be bullshit but if there’s any truth to it you may take a risk and back in talent with pick 28 but shouldn’t with pick 2.

Who is it that said he was like plugger
There's no name to it

Agree with this strategy.

Mate you’re acting as if I’m hating on dusty 😂 relax I have enough memorabilia to know I love the guy.
But there was that, the chopsticks, the snorting gesture etc I don’t care you’re going far from the point I’m trying to prove. All I’m saying is Richmond will not care about some attitude problem. They have proven time and time and time again. These kids come to Richmond and become leaders
That’s a group of examples all committed after he was drafted. Show me something that would have caused concerns prior.

Also, it was a different time and a very different club. Culture is now a huge focus.
