Right, so he basically doubled down on everything.

In summary:
  • Proceeded to list numerous excuses but also said they weren't excuses. But then basically used them as excuses.
  • Cited the Gus retirement as having a big impact (he came back to this several times)
  • Literally said we want to "double down" on what we think is working (so I hope you're ready for more contest and defence)
  • Reckons our past two years of finals footy has been good enough to get the job done
  • Said that all of our debutants had played a lot of footy, quickly realised his mistake, and had to backtrack it
  • Essentially dismissed supporters concerns with our personnel and game plan as not being the real issues

sounds like nothing will change then.

What a flog, these guys are just being too lazy to change anything. Trying to take the easy route to keep collecting the pay check.

Ben Brown with 6 goals at Casey. Watch us give him a new contract

Almost perfect, other than the amount of time he listed things that he as CEO could not control.

Also talked about how we as a club are always “reviewing” what we can improve - even after winning a flag (and how did that go?)

Also “we consult with members and supporters”. Really? Reply emails are a challenge for this lot.

He has to go

The Trac thread on demonland is sensational reading. Apparently we should all call Trac 'childish' for not showing up to the game today but yet should still be sympathetic to Oliver after he ****ed us over in the off-season.
The only reason Oliver was at the game is because he needs to be babysat. Our other injured players didn't go afaik.

Someone I know who has a legitimate connection to the club reckons Viney is gone, which is obviously the opposite of what Pert is saying. Going to be a very interesting off season.
I think so. His answer to Lynch after the game suggested this was likely

I think our other injured players in the rehab group stayed back in Melbourne but everyone else who can’t participate in the rehab group were trucked up there? Not super sure though

You could be right. I wasn't paying super close attention. Saw Oliver but heard on the radio that May and Trac wouldn't be there. Not sure if Windsor went up.

Did he mention finding a home base? This to me has to be priority #1 for Pert.

I don't think that came up at any point sadly.
Disappointing no one even questioned him on it. Are we literally the only club to NOT have a home base? Bizarre the media don't pick up on this more. The inability to stabilise the club by securing a permanent base. Looking at Sydney's facilities compared to ours shows what a huge gap there is. Such a huge selling point for the Swans.

I hoped someone might press him on it. I mean there have been a few possibles announced during his tenure that seemed then to quietly go nowhere.

I’m not sure how bad a thing it is not to have secured a proper home base, but he sold himself all the way as the man who would get it done and everything announced has just crawled into a hole and died. So I would have liked it if someone had asked what ground has actually been made on that stated ambition

Dan Houston may have got himself rubbed out for a pretty long stint. Ironed out Rankine.

We should start some media chatter about how we have gone cold on him now. Questioning his character and all that 😂
