A 2-pick downgrade for a 1-pick upgrade at a later point of the draft. I think not.
"Hey, we're going to just miss out on one of the consensus top-five from the draft, how would you guys feel about swapping with us so that you'll be in that exact position instead?"

What would it take?

I don't understand the Melbourne list, maybe you don't need midfielders?

Doubt there's anything St Kilda can realistically offer to make it worthwhile tbh.

We need a bit of everything, but particularly midfielders with a pick that high.

At least the someone can respond reasonably.

Funny thing is we had pick 5, until we beat Carlton in the final round and practically gave Melbourne pick 5.

So yes many saints members are frustrated if one of the top 6 mids don't slide to 7.

It was worth it for the Cartlon troll, shame freo didn't follow through

It’s that time of year.

I think there will be some very good mids available at your pick, and this year more than others you might get the guy that ends up the best of them. It seems a very unusual draft

Thoughts on 7,8 and 32 for 5&9?
I don't think the club last year was very interested in the second or third rounds, and by the way we've been trading picks thus far i think they aren't interested again this year

Thoughts on 7,8 and 32 for 5&9?
We traded a fair bit of capital to get that 9, and I’m assuming that we want the 5 or it would have been split along the lines of what you have suggested.

If something like that were to happen it would happen on draft night - for example if the guy we are after suddenly looked like they would remain available.

2 gun midfielders drafted together.

Where have I seen this movie before and how did that turn out? 🤔
Brayshaw and Petracca worked out OK

One retired from injury and the other wants to leave?

Has happened twice now.
You're right, both terrible picks. Should've went with Jarrod Pickett and Paul Ahern instead
