I do agree that Goodwin isn't the only problem at the club, and getting rid of him doesn't solve everything

Buttt I reckon moving him on is a start to a lot more change
There's been rumours about Goody that I chose not to believe, but then the court-case info suggests the rumours may have been correct.
I think goody coaches for one more season, and in that time-frame, we change things off-field, and also speak with John Longmire. Or Dean Cox.

Add Petty to Adelaide as well.
Agreed. BUT, Petty has had a change of heart Re the Crows, in the past 6 weeks, he re-signed. (interesting timeframe)... and has really put in more commitment in his games... taking more field marks, and going flat out.

In that same time-frame, JvR has started to clunk one grabbers around the field.

So something has started to happen that shows in better team form, or individual form, and some change of heart in many.

Going back to around 6 - 8 weeks back I mentioned that Viney had basically fresh-aired Gawn on the bench as the final siren had sounded, after the win... or they both avoided one another.
It seemed odd to me that they didn't embrace there and then.

Joining dots, to me it comes back to Oli, and a lesser extent Fritta's lack of effort defensively... lack of team commitment.
And this is the same that cost us all, in both 2022 and 2023...

Tracc is a pretty smart guy and very professional. I would back him in this time.
Dude is weapons grade thick. Was spouting The Secret at one point.

Good to see Schwartz getting stuck into Roffey and Pert on SEN saying the below

“When Melbourne won the flag in 2021, there were people popping up left, right and centre to take credit for the win. Now that things are going bad, absolute crickets.”
I had a listen to it just now https://www.sen.com.au/news/2024/08...on-player-behaviour-highlighted-schwarz-dees/

I do like his passion for the club but him talking about player behaviour off field given his own when a player comes across a bit cringe.

Wonder if any supporters have commented on his insta "dont play for us then" for the lols.

Trac is the last bloke on our list you'd look at offers for. Amazing trainer, top 10 player in the comp. If he goes then we're in more trouble than most of us thought. Look at Viney to Norf, Oliver to Crows.
Oli to North should be enough.

Keep all our fully committed players, and let those with Q? marks over them, go.

You know what, I'd be looking at a swap of Fritta for Houston. Straight swap.

Oliver should be out for the year, get whatever hand/shoulder surgeries he needs and told that he’s only starting next year if he shows that he’s in the top 5 tacklers in the club during the pre-season.

At the moment he is probably the worst tackler in the league.

Until and unless he regains anything close to his best he is only worth a spot in the team if he’s playing the in and under role, dishing out handballs that actually go to a teammate and laying 8-10 proper tackles a game.
He's not the only player that just infers he's going to tackle an opponent... Lever I've seen doing it out on our D50 at the boundary, and the opponent still got his kick into they're f50.

It spreads like covid.

Peak Oliver was a contested ball beast and ferocious tackler. 2nd, 3rd efforts. He had a never say die attitude in the last QTR.

Team mates would always comment on how much he hated losing and could push himself beyond exhaustion late in quarters and games. It made him nearly untagable. How the mighty have fallen.
Yes, but was peak 'Oli' on the gear then, or not.?

Was watching some highlights from 2017 a few weeks ago (when we were actually fun to watch)... 3:49 below....where has that guy gone?

It's gone to the same place our aggression went to. at the same time.

We were hunters back then, with hunger, on the way up... and since the flag, we've givin' up more easily, and been a bit gang-ho about it all.
And slipped as we went further along. its been a slippery slope, worse each season.

Norf don't need any mids. Crows do. The reason Norf are rumoured to be after Viney was for leadership. Oliver clearly doesn't provide that..

Salem and Lever would fit in well off half back for North as well.

Sparrow to provide more midfield depth for Port.

Fritsch to the Hawks to replace an ageing Gunston

Farris-White could provide some good ruck depth for Richmond with an ageing Nank.

My mistake Mr Healey.
Getting a lot of the 'Mr Power/s' recently. Honestly, good. Having to type your username out so many times in the draft comp shortened my life expectancy

Oli as you said... but also his fall from grace with Issues... and also in a final last year, helping Cripps up in a must-win game, speaks like a YELL, about our desire, or his desire for wins.
I really liked that moment where he told Cripps to wipe the blood off so he wouldn't be booted off the field because of the blood rule. I would have liked it even more if he pointed it out to the umpires instead.

Would that make you Mr. 94?
