I'd do that deal. He's as good as Judd. They wanted Graham.
Forget about the Kmac part. Would you trade for Harley Reid with pick 1 and 3/4 or not?

Some gushing man love for Taj…and they have done their homework on his injury. Reckon he’s good to go, it’ll be holding him back that will be the challenge.Anything of note?
Might give it a listen on the way to work tomorrow morning
I did laugh at the Alger family reaction. That’d be mine if we had any talentIt's only half an hour, pretty easy listen
Nothing too in depth on each player, a lot of it was around how most players were super competitive, wanting to get the best out of themselves, driven, etc
Was asked about traits they look for, which he gave some examples of, but also didn't want to give too much away
Probably the only time he let his guard down was admitting that Robbie D'Orazio, Armstrong's manager was in contact with him during the draft when player managers aren't meant to be in contact with teams during the draft.
LoL.On the contrary, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t for 1 & 3.
Reid could do an ACL in game 1 and you’ve traded away two top 3 picks for him? Crazy risk involved
Sometimes the best things that these list managers say is what they don't say, and Hartley appears to be an expert in holding the really important cards to his chest.Blair Hartley on Talking Tigers
Richmond General Manager of Football Talent Blair Hartley joins the Talking Tigers Podcast reviewing the clubs selections at the AFL Draft.www.richmondfc.com.au
Except wanting competitors (when the whips are cracking) and willingness to work. A template of our great era .Sometimes the best things that these list managers say is what they don't say, and Hartley appears to be an expert in holding the really important cards to his chest.
That was actually a really interesting and informative chat with him, but when you reflect at the end of it Blair hasn't given anything of any substance away when it comes to strategy and procedure. Which is very reassuring from a supporter's pov.
2010: Swallow and Sam Day
1-0 Harley Reid
2011: Patton and Tyson
2-0
2012: Whitfield and Plowman
3-0
2013: Boyd and Billings
4-0
2014: McCartin and Brayshaw
5-0
2015: Weitering and Mills
5-1
2016: McGrath and McCluggage
5-1-1 (tie)
2017: Rayner and Dow
6-1-1
2018: Walsh and Rankine
6-2-1
2019: Rowell and Jackson
6-2-2 (I’d take Reid but will give a tie)
2020: JUH and Phillips
7-2-2
2021: JHF and Callaghan
7-3-2
2022: Cadman and Scheezel
7-4-2 (I’ll assume Cadman develops so will award them the win)
I believe Reid will become one of the best few players in the competition and likely the best, which if it does happen you’d take him over almost any combo above. If he ‘only’ becomes a top-10 player you’d still win more than you lose.

I think what is missing in this discussion is an acknowledgement that Reid might not become one of the best few players in the comp. Yeah he had a great year and everyone lost their respective minds over him, but at the end of the day he still has question marks, like any other 2nd year player. His tank, for one. He didn’t show the type of consistency as (for eg) a Selwood did when he first burst onto the scene. Don’t think you can fairly say that right now you’d definitely give him the win over Whitfield and Plowman or McCartin and Brayshaw, simply because Whitfield and Brayshaw are actually proven and he isn’t.2010: Swallow and Sam Day

Especially seeing Reid has almost certainly never seen a chequebook in his life and even if he did know how to cash one the government is ending them really soon (if not already?)I always laugh at "throw the cheque book at him" because I just imagine the person standing there and their superior walking in and chucking a cheque book which subsequently bounces of their forehead
Thats why Horse resigned lolInteresting to hear from Cal Twomey that there was a lot interest in Taj Hotton and Jonty Faull from clubs between picks 11(14) and 18(21).
Richmond didn't want to take the risk of Sydney trading up to get Jonty Faull so took him at pick 11(14). Rated him the no 1 KPF in the draft.
Richmond also took Luke Trainor at pick 18(21) ahead of Harry Armstrong due to interest from the Swans.
Not when you blow your salary cap and he is not technically yet a superstar.A superstar in the hand is worth more than two speculatives in the nest.
We paid Dustin huge money and won 3 flags. The kid will be a superstar, there is no doubt. Not when you blow your salary cap and he is not technically yet a superstar.
well we gave dusty the monster contract when he had one of the best individual years & won the brownlow and the coaches player of the year (and then went on to win the norm)We paid Dustin huge money and won 3 flags. The kid will be a superstar, there is no doubt.
Players like Reid don't come along every day.well we gave dusty the monster contract when he had one of the best individual years & won the brownlow and the coaches player of the year (and then went on to win the norm)
so maybe we can come to an agreement that we'll get reid when he does that and everyone is happy !
Let's see if he can perform in finals before putting him on the top echelon of players, far too premature calls on him so farPlayers like Reid don't come along every day.
Come on mate, he's dominating some games as an 18/19 year old.Let's see if he can perform in finals before putting him on the top echelon of players, far too premature calls on him so far
Plenty of superstars in the H&A season can't back it up when the pressure it really on
Nah according too some we could've got both with picks in the 50s.Interesting to hear from Cal Twomey that there was a lot interest in Taj Hotton and Jonty Faull from clubs between picks 11(14) and 18(21).

Hopefully stays one more year and offer 26 & 27.I'd trade the lesser of our two 2025 1sts and a 2026 1st for Reid. Keep pick 1.
Feel like Eagles might be keen for the 25 pick if it gives them a chance at Rodriguez (who I also want, but gotta give value to get value)Hopefully stays one more year and offer 26 & 27.
Does he pass the no dickhead test? Not sure he does.Players like Reid don't come along every day.
