of all the selections, this looks like the biggest reach by far.

nothing to do with the player but serious scrutiny in coming years I think
Could be but we need talls and we’ve picked up the only two key talls that were drafted first round. Either the kids that are small are too good to pass or the talls aren’t so good this year.

Bringing in Faull maybe 7 spots or 10 spots at worst too early is nothing at the end of the day. As of last week Armstrong was top 5 going to Melbourne. Things change and our biggest area for needs are tall forwards. We took 6 picks, 2 were always going to get picked.

We all thought Armstrong will be gone and Shannahan would be our pick but so be it, Faull’s competitiveness and consistency seems to outweigh the likes of Shannahan and Whitlock to our recruiters and I’m pleased (also switching Armstrong to 14 and Faull 23 is an easy way to switch the narrative)

I'm glad to get Norf's F1, but the trade wasn't that much in our favour, it's a win, but not a complete robbery
Based off 2025 points, Pick 27 & 32 (estimated) is worth around Pick 16, and in 2024 points it's worth Pick 12, so it's still a win for us as long as they don't click and make a finals push.

Forget the points … it’s completely irrelevant in this situation. Let’s put it this way … North pick might be 8 if we’re unlucky.

People were laughing when suggested Saints trade 8 for 18 and 20…. In a super strong draft.

It’s a win for us. But if M Whitlock is a really good player then North will be happy regardless.

When friends from opposing clubs are texting me saying we nailed it….you gotta be happy with Lalor, smilie, Trainor, Faull, Hotton and Armstrong and Nths future F1. Potentially another clubs F1 tomorrow or we pick best available. Sets up up with next years draft before tassie. Very happy hats off RFC

He was a freak even the acl couldn't stop him. But different game now it's so fast and if you look so many players going down not with one acl but multiple. Game is just to hard on players and when they are doing it in nappies well doesn't go well. Young ones with concussions also don't have a good record. We somehow went against the trend and out of 6 picks we snared 4 with major problems. The more I look at it the sicker I feel and my hope of a resurrection is lost lol.
You don’t think every clubs medical team aren’t all over this? Do you think these kids weren’t going to get drafted due to injury concerns?

Trainor will be better and we do not need forwards like we need players in other areas

No but after last couple of seasons I would have thought they would have thought about it a little bit.

I know the points don't matter to us as we don't have any academy or FS kids to worry about, but it is a way of calculating how fair a trade was. If it was an outright swap of their F1 for 27 then I'd be running around the pool table with my pants around my ankles, but it being a slide and giving up the 1st pick of Day 2 means it's just a likely win, potentially a big win, but could just as easily be a wash.

I know its a long game and not about 2025, but Smillie is the only one with a chance of playing. Would have liked a little more to look forward to.

Can we just fast forward to 2026 please.
Pick 1 as well?

Not saying he won’t be. I was talking forwards not defenders.

How do we not need forwards?! Our best player plays 4 games a year. Our next best goal kicker we traded to Freo and the next one in Mansell couldn’t get a game or started as the sub/back before this year.

We desperately need forwards and with 6 picks it was always going to happen. We got the best defender in the draft we don’t need anymore. We got hopefully 2 quality mids who will set us up for over a decade and potentially the best medium forward post injury.

No forwards.. pfft. Go to bed

Why not Shanahan if we were going to go with a tall?

Was decent in the carnival, but I don’t think this is the best use of our pick
Faull is better than Shanahan. Toughest KPF in the draft.

That’s a funny image!! But if your pants are around your ankles not sure how far ur running?….🤣
