I'm glad to get Norf's F1, but the trade wasn't that much in our favour, it's a win, but not a complete robbery
Based off 2025 points, Pick 27 & 32 (estimated) is worth around Pick 16, and in 2024 points it's worth Pick 12, so it's still a win for us as long as they don't click and make a finals push.

Forget about points. Would you trade our Future first for 2 second-rounders? Likely Pick 3-5 will get us a star.

Pick 27 (Matt Whitlock) and likely pick 30+ next year is in a weak draft. That could change when players tend to pop up in the U18 champs but currently, it dips after the first 10.

Thoughts on the haul big boy?

We knew we were getting Lalor and Smillie and very happy with them. Big bulls with great hands and skills who kick goals and tackle hard. Big tick.

Hotton: Love this pick. We needed pace and there wasn't much of it on offer. We got one of the three quickest kids and the bonus is he can really play.

Faull: We took the full five minutes with this pick which to me means we were on the phone, trying to trade down I'd say as we could have got him later. But no one bit so we took him there. I was thinking Berry or Allan at this pick but clearly Faull was our #1 tall and we didn't think he'd be there at 18. He's tough and macho. A bit like JVR but we won't make stupid noises and he'll get it more than six times a game.

Trainor: I'm not a huge fan but he's talented and skillful. Not a KPP - Vlastuin/Dog Stewart role. I'm okay with it.

Armstrong: Value where we got him. Good complement to Faull. Kicks goals even when he's quiet.

Fleeced Norf for pick 4 next year.

I think we had a good night. Brought in some future pillars. Maybe one tall too many but if we can somehow turn pick 28 into another future pick plus a pick that gets us Alger, happy days.

Finished last on the back of ridiculous injury. If Hopper, TT & Prestia , Lynch, Clarke, Gibcus, Ross, Bauer etc get fit and on the park, instant improvement. Gibcus was the only one from 2021 to play from Round 1. 2022.
Yze selected Kmac & Short all year. I hope it aint the case in 2025.
But Smilie from Round 1 2025 if/when he tires Lalor to step in, don't rush Lalor. Kmac2 kills it in the VFL ~ hasn't got the tank yet.
