Carlton gave Jagga number 7 and their other dross highish numbers too. 16, 21, 22 & 28.

I sure hope we give our guys good numbers. They will lead us to our next successful era. Just put it to them. Dimma bullshit earn numbers is rank.

2 - Seth Campbell
4 - Sam Lalor
6 - Sam Banks
7 - Steely Green
8 - Jonty Faull
9 - Josh Smillie
10 - Taj Hotton
12 - Harry Armstrong
16 - Luke Trainor
17 - Maurice Rioli
24 - Thomas Sims
26 - Jasper Alger
They are just numbers. How many of us were frothing with stu maxfield running around in 27 and Nick daffy in 44 (before he became a **** head and changed to 10) and let's not forget shutdown Turner in 41.

I personally do not gaf which number they wear. It makes no ****en difference.

My only exception is father sons and even then, sometimes they don't want the same number.

I do , hate seeing 40+ out there , it’s a neg vibe . Rather than anointing a talent it telegraphs your shit until proven otherwise . Dimma may have championed that, he’s gone and it’s an archaic practice

If we get say pick 1 and pick 3 in next years draft should we offer those picks to West Coast for Harley Reid?
Why on earth would you trade two of the top picks in next years draft for Reid. Surely we assess next years talent and if we deem that we will get TWO outstanding players, you keep the picks.
Love Reid as a player, a superstar no doubt but how many flags did the scum win with Judd in their side.
Unless the top end of the ‘25 draft is deemed ordinary, keep the picks for mine

100%
Draft talent then use FA.

Because you know what Harley is (probably a top 3 player in league at his prime) vs the unknown ability at afl level.

Still 12 months left and Sharp could make the convo void as he is that good.

But since 2010 you’d be giving up these combos for Harley

Swallow and Day
Patton and Tyson
Whitfield and plowman
Boyd and Billings
McCartin and Brsyshaw
Weitering and Oliver (was 4 but Mills was academy at 3)
McGrath and Mccluggage
Rayner and Dow
Walsh and Rankine
Rowell and jackson
Thilthorpe and McDonald (JUH went 1)
JHF and Callaghan
Cadman and Sheezel

so I’d definitely prefer

Weitering and Oliver
Walsh and Rankine
JHF and Callaghan

Serious consideration

Cadman and Sheezel (if cadman keeps improving you’d prefer that combo)
Rowell and Jackson.

There does seem an improvement in quality though in recent years. Those early 2010s had some awful top 3s.

Don't bullshit me, you loved Scott Turner in 41.

Outside of Rick was my favourite player there for a bit

Then met the great man in Ireland when we bashed that Irish side within an inch of their life was epic. Nothing like drinking victory

Interesting hypothetical question to go after a player such as H Reid? I love the idea of bringing in a player of that quality.
But I think it’s vital to consider the possible impact/opinion of the playing group? To pay/contract a player like this & it’s impact on the group? As in positive or negative an overall impact? I also love the idea of drafting and growing the talent together within the team… Really depends on which will benefit the team most?

We can't anyway because he's contracted for 2 more years but I would absolutely do that trade, most clubs would.
If we learnt anything this year contracts mean **** all of the player wants to make the move

So West Coast can trade him next year if the want?
I know top 20 draft picks get a automatic 3 year contract now.
If it's legal to trade next year, I would offer West Coast pick 1 , pick 3, Tyler Sonsie and pay Reid $16 million over 10 years.

You keep the picks and only trade quality players in via Free agency, unless your Geelong and seem to get away with offering absolute garbage for those players.

Yeah assuming he wants to move and west coast are happy with a deal they can 100% trade him

Just like how JHF was traded to Port after his 1st year

If you go back to our dynasty team it was built on draftees. Jack, Cotchin, Dusty, Rance, Edwards etc etc. we only used FA when we saw a need. I.e Prestia to strengthen the midfield then Lynch as Jack was aging. Would think we will do the same. Will have to see how the new recruits progress then use FA to address a need.

100%

The idea of trading away multiple top picks for a player is 20 years ago trading and more often than not fails. Today's game there is much better ways to secure top quality talent.

Well, thank God you’re not Blair Hartley then. Reid is great, but picks 1 & 3?. Get serious

hard no to Reid for this and many other reasons ....

100%. It's likely going to be 5 years before we're in a position to challenge, and thats all going well. Get in the talent, develop them, and then see what we can shake loose in FA to meet needs.

I love how you've added two players you don't like to the trade. West Coast would not accept Kamdyn in a trade for Harley Reid.
