Interesting article in relation to some breakout/mid priced cow candidates in McDonald and MacKenzie

Seize the day: Hawks back young guns to replace hurt mid

Promising comments on both but far too many names been floated with those same comments (even Moore gets touted which is also interesting)

Feels like there’s too much uncertainty to pencil in any, although at the lower price Mackenzie is prob the one to watch
I would avoid Macdonald personally, i think he is going to have a great year but he is good in that half forward role and we have so many bodies to throw through the midfield.

Newc, Day, Nash, Worpel, Mackenzie, Ward and Finn when we role that way. They all are pretty much full time mids. Guys like Moore and Macdonald will get rotations but i am not sure it will be enough to score consistently.

What sort of split do you think Mackenzie will get, with Day out? He's the Hawk I've had my eye on all pre-season?

Also, is he guaranteed Best 22, or still fringe at this stage?

Ward out to the wing at the moment to try and protect the foot a bit in match sim work is not the greatest of signs. CJ the other wing is interesting. I'd still be watching McDonald's CBA number trajectory. Hardwick forward causes a bit of reshuffle.

it’s hard to say but I don’t think I’d be confident enough to start him, I think he probably gets a lot of Days CBA’s while he is missing but both job security and role are slightly concerning. He is a pre season watch for me but I’m leaning towards passing on him as well.

WaynesWorld19 also more Rachele news, he’s hoping for a 50/50 FWD/MID split….

Hoping for a 50/50 split with Rankine and Pedlar. I suppose that is achievable with Rankine spending more time forward of the three. Not sure I like any of them at their prices with that split.

You guys should bin Nash and Worpel.

Newcombe, Day, Mackenzie, Ward and McDonald is an exciting midfield.

Not sure that's going to happen .....Soligo & Pedlar are the more natural Mids .....Rankine arguably the best MID prospect

Rachelle's engine is still a ??

Does Rachele bring something different to the midfield that Pedlar and Soligo dont have as much of?
Its not like the crows are lacking "natural mids" with Crouch, Laird and Dawson are they?

Just my opinion ....both Rankine and Rachele bring much needed speed to that midfield

Pedlar, brings class and brutality ....Soligo, a high footy IQ

Jack Macrae has done his hammy…… with five weeks until the season you probably can’t start with him now

Low grade hammy means 3 weeks. Had a decent pre season thus far where he's been back to his best...so it's still not enough for me to not pick him when he's literally one of the best Fantasy players in the game when in his preferred role.

Will see how it plays out, but if he plays in the pre season hit out and does well, I'll still start him. Not injury prone like Fisher, so not as big a deal either.

Had Rachele last season for much of it - he'll be good enough early - but may tire again

Suns training report on the AFL website mentioning Alex Sexton training at half back and impressing

Half the price of Fisher too at $382k for a FWD

Collingwood track watch: Beau McCreery shines in new role

Craig McRae appears to have found another midfield threat to boost Collingwood’s premiership defence

Craig McRae may have unearthed a new midfield weaponafter Beau McCreery shone during a lengthy intra-club hitout on Friday.

McCreery had been introduced into some centre bounce drills over summer but played the entire of the first half of match simulation in the guts, creating a formidable combination with Jordan De Goey.

One of the club’s best runners from a half-forward flank, McCreery brought his usual explosion to the midfield and burst out of a couple of stoppages.

He also stormed forward after a throw in on the wing, beating his midfield opponent forward to slot a snap from the pocket.

Not surprised by this, Beau was always ear marked for a move to the middle this season after Adams left, and Schulz came in, he’s very capable and he’ll play a lot more than Fin in midfield.

From a Fantasy perspective, if he plays full games yes, although I likely see him as a sub candidate unless there’s a magnet shuffle.
That’s what I’m thinking.
If he’s sub or worse yet not named rd 0 and/or 1 it could leave people really shuffling their teams as reckon a lot are banking on him
