Surely you have bigger issues than Salem - has three more games before his bye. Not saying don't do it, perhaps he's step up to someone better or you, but the strategy shared thus far is not one easy to endorse.
My side is in a weird no man’s land where I don’t have many “problems” per-se, but it doesn’t really have a lot of star power and ceiling scoring.

Everyone is hitting their BE comfortably every week and rising 10-20k, but from middling scores. Got alot of guys similar to Salem who are slight concerns and have had stunted cash gen but feels too early to move on from. Fisher, Fyfe, Bonner, Holmes, Young.

Salem to me feels like he’s been lucky to get the scores he has and has now lost the role I picked him for.

Current trades are Sexton to Powell and Salem to any mid under 950 via Daicos DPP (Potentially Butters).

Started way too light in the mids and it’s costing me over these bye rounds

I hear ya, I don't have any problem players yet either, other than Sexton, and Lazzaro to a lesser respect. Sexton was scheduled to be gone anyway. Remember, there are lots of coaches this week dealing with Green / Whitfield / Sexton. Probs a nice problem in some respects, but is likely to be one or two non-scorers for them. The only benefit not having them is ideally fielding more and better player to make some ground on them

If you can only get one

D'Ambrosio vs Powell?
D'Ambrosio easily, another watch week for Powell I reckon.

I have Whit, and are pretty much forced to trade him as I have zero cover for him as there’s a lack of incoming viable DEF rookies/ones with JS (have Howes at D6 already). If we get a debutant happy days but have moved Whit on to NWM who will score similarly and gives me cash for next week.

Powell - simply because of the lack of premium options forward.

I understand Ambrosio's 90s are nice but countless of players have strung a few 90s together over the years. His previous track record isn't great. I do agree he is a great pick but nobody is talking about the risks.

Powell has the role and ceiling. First round draft pick, selected as a gun inside mid, was played forward for years and now is being played on the ball.

This is what I'm hoping happens more broadly - already have NWM (and Clark and Young and Daicos and Sheezel and Howes) so hoping to fix or improve something ahead of the curve. Trade saved and used elsewhere. Mix of cash and points. Only time will tell.

Dempsey FWD ($349k) or Duursma MID/FWD ($354k) - who will out perform who from here? Both have a -1 BE
I reckon Duursma because he'll come up the ground and is a good mark. Dempsey had to kick goals to get his big score. I already have Dempsey and am not in the position to get Duursma right now (or at all).

Which one pls? I’m leaning towards option 2 just purely that I have a weak midfield at the moment but crouch has been killing it and is still under priced

I don't mind option 3 because you're getting rid of a bye player in Whit, who has history of screwing us over. Threatens to be a keeper by average, then gets injured on 30.
I might get off the Whitfield train this week.

Otherwise option 2.

Remember when Whitfield went 180 after a short injury a couple of years back. Good days.

Really hard to pick, ..............................mainly because at my age it's so blurry, and for a moment there I thought it was my vision getting worse ;)

Looking for 200k forward?
Freos Voss could play
Tabbenar broken again

Im doing a rookie swap this week.... Going burgess.

have been watching a few of the rookies and Burgess passed the eye test last week.
Clark is a spud and will get dropped soon
missed the dempsey train. He looked okay on field but im not paying up for him now

Mannagh actually looked decent. im tossing up between burgess and him but ive been burnt too many times by cats rookies. Chris Scott likes to take his time breaking the rookies in and tends to rotate them frequently. Its rare for a rookie to get a full game

got my eye on thomas next week. its such a nice BE. could do it this week but i dont need to

We might find out soon if he was injured or on the drugs for that short lay-off 🤔🤫

D'Ambrosio vs Powell?

Massimo easily IMO.

Hawks look for him on switch kicks a lot and he is very hungry to get the ball and rack up those +6's.

Powell I'm not that excited about to be honest. I think the pick has a high chance to backfire. And a low chance to burn if you don't go there

I think Mannagh getting a full game was likely more a consequence of them having Bruhn, Atkins, Duncan, Bowes, and Cam Guthrie all unavailable for selection. I'd be cautious jumping on Mannagh with most of them set to return soon.

D'Ambrosio vs Powell?
Hard to split so more dependent on your structure than anything else...

D'Ambrosio looks like he's in great form, but the concern is whether he can keep that up for the whole season. He does seem to be used as that link up player out of D50 similar to Amon, but also pushing up on a wing where he historically hasn't scored great. Amon hasn't been getting as much ball as last year... what happens when the Hawks decide to kick it more to Amon's side than Massimo's?

It's true that Powell has a history of inconsistent scoring, but back then he only had 20 or 30% CBAs. He was playing primarily as a forward, and we all know how inconsistently forwards score. Now there seems to be a major role shift, with him playing 75+% CBAs these two rounds he should have more consistency if this continues.

I've traded in D'Ambrosio from last round but leaning Powell tbh.

Heath Chapman could be back as early next week. I'd imagine he'll split his time between the backline with a few stints on the wing. If he can go 75 or 80ish it could be worthwhile going Yeo down to him in a couple of weeks.

And, for those considering trading Young out this week, the return of Chapman surely needs to be a consideration. In my view, it just further solidifies Young's role in the middle.
