Going to continue to be patient and chase cash. Newcombe stays, rather than locking in his falling price. Despite the fact he looks terrible I'm going to stick fat and trust him to turn it around.

Still have Marshall, Xerri AND Grundy. Grundy stays for next weeks matchup against West Coast in the Adelaide Hills. Xerri has Big O that same week so hoping to have a points swing in my favour for that before moving Grundy/Xerri on.

Following week will be grabbing Harvey Thomas for his $$, at this stage thinking of moving on Reid given his ceiling/tank doesn't appear to be there. This would allow me to upgrade Young to Sheezel or Fisher to Flanders.

Be interesting to see if Lazzaro is dropped or becomes Sub. Wasn't the worst and could just as easily notched up a 60-70 if he wasn't subbed out late in the 3rd. His BE is still quite attractive, but is his JS now testy? WE'll know this week.

He's obviously right on the cusp, although I've watched both North games and he has been contributing pretty well.

Yeah I'm going back and forth on it as well. I'm starting to lean towards keeping him.
I have convinced myself Newc will be the Noah Anderson of 2024, so I am not going to trade him after a poor start to the season.

Not sure how you guys are slightly convincing me to keep Newc? Lol
I have been watching hawks however and he looks slow and not interested. I’m not sold he turns it around.
Downgrading him allows me to get Tom Green next week who is genuinely hungry. Would rather someone who tackles and calls for the ball and the risk of not having my tv be smashed.

I’m ranked around 49k after a horrible start and just looking to climb now and get a couple wins on the board in my league.

Love the look of Powell however already have too many north players.

Newc to D’ambrosio and Grundy to Xerri
Reason being - D’ambrosio looks great, low B/E and calls for the ball constantly. I know Xerri cooled down a while last week however his work around the ground is super impressive and I hate watching the game not having him where as Grundy is slow and just no where. Not sure how he managed to get to 90 last week. Happy to sell him, chase a better player and lower BE and wouldn’t be mad if he dropped a 120 on my head this week against WCE.

Thinking of downgrading young to dambrosio, and newc to possibly dunkley which leaves me with 300k to play with next week but it leaves me with a really underperforming forward line in rankine, fisher and fyfe. at 102k rank i don't think i can make anymore bad decisions hahahaha

Trade Young or or Yeo?

I just don't trust Yeo. Young has been underwhelming, has 6 FA in 2 weeks bringing down his score and Yeo and Young are averaging the same. I'll probably trade Young as BE game says trade Young over Yeo

If Young comes good that saves a trade. I know Yeo breaks down at some point and is not a keeper. He is running at 70% TOG

I'm doing the exact same as you and planning for the same trades next week.

The only other option, aside from Xerri, that tempts me is Sexton to Powell. But you can't pass up a guy that's gone 120 and 104 for a guy that's gone 78 and then had one good ton. Trying to tell myself there's every chance that Simpkin sees more mid time in the coming weeks as he builds back into it.

I grabbed Serong last week and it saved my rabble of a side.

I think having Green and Serong will be pretty unique. And with best 18 for two weeks after we grab Green, I've got time to get those extra rooks off field.

Good philosophy...

Every year, I go into this game with some rules, and every year I break them, usually chasing points.

This year, my aim is to only trade in either keepers, or players that are going to make money. I'm also not trading out someone I classify as a keeper unless they have three bombs in a row. Bont, Naicos and Grundy fit this category. Bont is improving, and at the end of the day, he's going to average 100+. Naicos will have a few blips, but will also be 100+. Grundy may not make the 100 average, but still looks like returning much better than his starting price.

Last round, I traded in Serong as a keeper and Dempsey to make coin. I dumped Newk and Fisher. Newk was a good dump, Fisher only made 9K for the round vs 49K for Dempsey, so happy with the trades, especially as Serong was my VC for 250 points.

This round, I'm looking at Young to D'Ambrosio. Young is not scoring like a keeper, and is not making coin. Mass is averaging 10 points more and has a low BE. My other current trade is Sexton to Powell. Sexton isn't a disaster as he's made some coin, and will probably make his BE next game, but I started him thinking 80ish average and hold till his main bye, making some coin along the way. He's nowhere near that score, and has a bye this week, so gets the boot. I'm bringing in Powell... he is scoring where I wanted Sexton to be, and has a low BE, so should add value.

Other things I'm watching are Schoenmaker possibly getting a run, which could be a straight swap for Z Reid who I chose to keep, but there would need to be some other surprise when teams are named for me to go that way before the above trades.

Tricky round this time with games from Thursday to Monday. Thankfully it is another best 18 round, and I only have Massimo and Dempsey on field plus Mannagh on the bench with the Monday game.

Anyway, this time next week, my whole story could change and my carefully thought out trades could have gone to sh!t after Bevo an Horse screw things around....
If Schoonermaker gets a game, I can keep Whit

Need to decide.. Newc to Crouch, wait a week on Sexton

Sexton to Powell, hold Newc

Complete restructure.. Newcombe down, field the 4 good mid rookies.. Sexton to Powell, 500k cash to get Reid and Wilson off the field in the next two weeks.

Was not my first option, given Powell's price increase this week is minimal compared to last week .....I preferred to get Massimo and Sheezel

BUT ....I have Whitfield, Green and Sexton on their bye .....so the bye has somewhat shaped my trades
