what about wines -> thomas via some dpp ?
then salem -> whoever

Only thing is I'd be banking so much coin doing that. Already had $491k in the bank coming into this week. Feel like it needs to be a double upgrade week.

I think Salem has a scoreless qtr each of past 2 weeks, that’s rare air

Was looking into it today.

QTR 1 - 0 Points, 3 CBAs
QTR 2 - 12 Points, 7 CBAs
QTR 3 - 21 Points, 0 CBAs
QTR 4 - 19 Points, 0 CBAs

Role was there in the first half in the midfield but wasn't doing anything. Moved back at HT and scored better. Noting it was against Port who are hard to score against.

If it wasn't for his bye I'd be more inclined to ride it out for another week or two, but with the bye in leaning towards a trade.

Already locked in Wilson (or Lazzaro if dropped) > Flanders

Was planning on then going Lazzaro/Reid > Thomas, but am now thinking of instead going Howes > Clohesy for the following reasons:

  • Howes has the highest BE, and I am still stubbornly bullish on some big scores from Laz and Reid given both are getting some CBAs
  • Thomas' 100 was against WCE, he is a small forward who I see as likely to average approx 40 from here forward, and he is already at $265k
  • Clohesy is mature aged, starred for Werribee last year before being picked up by an AFL team (same as Mannagh) and averaged 90 in his last four games for Werribee
  • I need to squeeze as much as possible out of this trade and a rookie downgrade next week to be able to afford Jordon to either Bont or Touk next week. Going to Thomas MAY mean I can't afford a mid > $900k, and all of the options that I like at that price still have a bye ahead (Taranto, Clarry).

Anyone have any thoughts or insight on Clohesy's JS?

RowellAnderson12 would be the best one to ask.

Deliberating on whether trading Salem out is a bigger priority than getting Thomas in this week. Salem a definite trade by his bye, but can't decide if the upside of Thomas is better than the potential downside of Salem.
I've been thinking the same thing. However, the Crows will probably let him canter around picking up some cheap points. 99 BE isn't super out of reach, and wouldn't lose a heap if he has a decent game

Howdy!

As a Thomas hype man myself, he scored 66 against us in Preseason looked good. Thats where i fell inlove, our defence is pretty average tbf im expecting a 40+ loss and i reckon Thomas can score 60+, i don't think its one to miss out on. He's avoided being the sub/subbed every game, patrols down the wing to get involved and can mark and tackle.

Clohesy will be hopefully our future starting full time winger. I feel like he may score and play like Jaspa Fletcher does at the Lions, definately one for next week as he is basement price. Ellis is cooked, Fiorini is our only Senior winger, Ratkins better off half back, Will Graham is the 3rd wing rotation, with some inside mid and half back. Going off Dimma's future plans i see Clohesy JS very good if he puts in a good shift

How come Clohesy didn't play VFL Round 1?

Option 1 - Lock away the premo. Also Fisher is scoring at what hes priced at so could look to move him on given North are at a small ground this week. Can look to bring in either a gun mid or Marshall next week with Grundys bye.

Option 2 - Focus on some cash generation and can look to get in flanders from Jordon & Hore next week.

I'm in a similar boat, got Billings & Newcombe to get rid of, and can't for the life of me decide between the two options above - double down or one up one down.

It's still so early in the season and cash gen is really important but deciding which two of Thomas, Gallagher and Dempsey is its own problem - if you don't get them this week then the ship on all of them has probably sailed. But which two is the best combo?!

A double down leaves a shitload in the bank ($581K-$740K), which is a lot of points in a best 22 round, but allows for a big double upgrade next week.

The one up one down is the sensible play but the FOMO of missing one of the rookies if they have another big score is what's making it so difficult to decide.

such a bad round 3 has push me back and trading out hayden young was a mistake however this week get touk miller and whitfield back on the field.

The intention for this week was to get flanders but with a hard game against GWS he can wait a week and as our cash cows have not fully fattened think the plan this week is to fix the rookies and this being a marathon to get a fully loaded team

fisher > Dempsey
Wilson > Thomas

My teams half good half bad but one to keep an eye out for is now that Ethan Read and Jed Walter is in the side. Luko at 600k playing half back will be a popular shout next week for James Jordon
I don’t have Flanders, but going with Luko and Clohesy instead of him next week with my warchest could help in trading Howes to someone worthwhile on the Dees bye the week after as it’ll still mean money in the bank

How far into the Dogs game did Luko go back?

He started the game in defence but swung forward when the conditions required it for the goals.

Clearly the Suns want to prioritise Read, Walter, King and Levi so someone had to move.

His BE is 82 so won’t skyrocket in price either. Will be a keen watch this week.

Think I've settled on this:

Gives me $240k in the bank and only one rookie in the forward line and 4 in midfield (though Bonner at M4 looks mighty gross). If Sexton is dropped I'll ditch him instead of Reid I suppose. I keep going back and forward on Thomas or Gallagher, but for extra cash without the higher score, I don't think Gallagher is as worth it, even if Thomas regresses to his 30s and 40s, since he'll just be on the bench for me and can make $100k or so before I ditch him.

I would keep Reid for now due to JS would rather trade out Lazz/Wilson/Windsor if you have them before Reid

Only have Wilson of those, but fair enough. His cash gen is just so poor.
