I'm satisfied with who we picked, unlike some I believe they're all picks for future development 2-4yrs time which is very smart list management in MY OPINION. IF and it's a big IF...one of them play next year let's hope it's not because of long injury list.
all look like picks with plenty of upside and growth to come. we have certainly given lloyd and rich some good talent to work with for their inaugral year as development coaches. quite happy with who we have grabbed considering our draft capital coming into the evening

So how does the pre-season and rookie draft work tomorrow...do we have pick 17 (reverse order on finishing 2nd)?
We would but we don't have any picks in either.

We do love our WA boys and glad for ZZ and Torrents having played state footy together they’ll get to move, settle in and start their careers in Brisbane together. Shrewd strategy.

With Lloyd being a Sandy boy and knowing the Ashcrofts, will just need to settle in Morris and with Cam hailing from the same neck of the woods in Melbourne; he’d be a decent role model.

Still can’t believe how nice a player that Cooper Simpson looks; reckon Freo did rather well overall.

So when Carter is upgraded to the primary list, we do not have any spots for anyone?
Carter is upgraded as of the national draft.

We have one Cat B slot but that's not filled through the rookie draft.

Taylor Walker 194cm
Charlie Curnow 194cm
Brody Mihocek 192cm
Jeremy Cameron 196cm
Jack Lukosius 195cm
Jack Riewoldt 192cm
Tim Membrey 188cm
Mitch Owens 191cm
Oscar Allen 196cm
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan 196cm
Aaron Naughton 196cm
Daniel McStay 195cm
All play or have played most of their career as the No. 1 key forward.

Logan Morris 191cm and considered the best contested mark in this year’s draft
Luke Lloyd 193cm and considered to have natural football nous and great forward awareness.
Could even get a cm or two growth out of them.

These two will only be expected to take the 3rd tall forward role until they hone there craft and build their bodies.
Both could be very handy additions when the Lions are going for the 3peat in 2026.

Well done recruiters.

Worth bearing in mind a lot of these guys grew after being drafted. Walker was drafted at 190 and Curnow at 191.

I don’t think we have to use it for a Cat. B selection, could be used as a rookie pick or save it for the mid season draft.

Another leftie to the Lions
In those clips he does appear to look for players when in possession which is a good trait for someone that does not look very quick.
Like a lot of lefties, he does not appear to have a right foot which is something he will have to work on. Going on those clips only.
Trained with Peel seniors in the preseason so that will give him a little insight into what he can expect.
The Lions preseason will be another big step but not as bad if he was coming from U18/schoolboys' sides.

One senior WAFL game for Peel Thunder but no idea how much TOG. Three reserves and 5 Colts games
Adding a midfield type was good seeing we delisted Mathieson.

No, we have no Cat A spots available.

I feel like I'm going around in circles now.
