Geelong flew Gallop down 2 weeks ago so they are very keen.

Do they use pick 42 on him??
The Cats have a decent record of getting bargains late in the draft, if they are interested in Ty it is even more reason to select him or match the bid.

If Ty's biggest drawbacks are his height and his workrate (which was much improved in the VFL final), then he is an absolute bargain pickup as far as KPF go. Great pair of hands, straight kick and very aggressive in contests. If he can get his workrate up to AFL level, I don't think his height will hurt him much.

Not worried about next years draft. This club is run so well that they will have the right amount of picks for our academy players. Likewise, we will probably gain some trade currency if someone decides to leave (which can always happen). I also hope we get Gallop.

And if they **** it up, we can always hire briztoon to rebuild.

Why are people mentioning craven and Joyce ? The club has committed to put them on the ROOKIE list, they have no bearing on what we can pick tonight.
Steve Conole came out during the week with twomey on afl site and said it's possible we could take 4 picks in total depending on who's available...sorry but it's doing my head in with them two getting mentioned.

They're being mentioned because if a club wants to re-rookie an existing player on their rookie list, like we're doing for Craven/Joyce, they have to nominate for the National Draft. Like, Patrick Parnell at Adelaide has.
That was Stephen Conole on Gettable this week, our recruiting manager, not Daly. The only way it's possible for us to take 2 selections tonight - 4 2024 draftees, is if another club drafts Craven/Joyce tonight, or, we don't sign Sam Day

Some may love him and you have to salute him, but as long as clubs seem happy telling Cal Twomey who they plan on selecting, it pretty much kills draft night for me. Might as well go back to the 10-1 count-up - the whole thing is a procession. Sure, there was a little mixing it up outside the top 10, but overall it makes the whole experience a little dull. Even more so, when you have to wait 5 minutes for each pick.
This piece would no doubt tickle you pink :p

I agree though, seems odd how much the early part of the draft is effectively leaked.

Yes apologies it was conole my mistake. So day may not get picked the club have never come out and said we are picking him.
Again conole did say we will look at a 4th pick depending who's available.

In the stickied post at the top of the page with the spreadsheet, does anyone know why some picks are bolded and others are plain? Seems a bit all over the shop to me 🤷

Believe that means they have been traded/free agency compo/bid match (not a part of the original draft order/original holder of pick)

I would suggest it's that non-bolded rows are picks assigned to that club based on their ladder position, while bolded rows are picks acquired through trading or matching a bid

That's what I thought at first. But then why (for example) isn't pick 27 in bold? That's the pick North traded for just last night.
