We should’ve never given him that contract. I called it.

Treacy Back up ruck and Voss debuts.
What's the point of specialist rucks on the list if we won't use them.

Personally would keep the preferred structure of Treacy, Jackson and Amiss up front with Reid to replace Darcy. They've trained that way all preseason, I hope they stick to it.

I don't want Jackson rucking fulltime but neither Reidy or Knobel look anywhere near the level.
They better pull the heir finger out
That contract could be career ending for some of the staff at Cockburn. It was a huge risk
I was fine with a contract…but the amount was ridiculous.

Treacy can hold his own in the ruck.

Yeah, so instead, we can sacrifice from our incredibly talented and deep forwardline...

Much better to have Sean in less discomfort now than half way through the season where teams are exploiting his inability to cover three ground due to a grinding knee.

With any luck he will be moving around the park in a few days and they'll just play safe with him around the surgical swelling.

A blood clot for Nathan O'Driscoll worries me more. They better be right on top of that infection control.

serious question for an expert. Footballers who take hard head hits (depending on their position) a few times a season on average as a general guess and we know the outcomes for those that have taken a few more. So how bad then is it in boxing and MMA when they are taking hit after hit at that level in every match and a bit during certain activities during training? Seems they would have little hope?
A big part of CTE is subconcussive impacts, whilst obviously boxing and MMA is bad for the brain - a lot of the damage is done when there are opposing forces, like a player running into a hit and the brain moves forward whilst the skull back more

Missing games against McInerney and Xerri isn't the end of the world.

They're also not the sort of players I would want Jackson jumping into for very long. Big oafs who will stick their knee out at every opportunity and will try to injure him. Remember those couple of games in Rd 13 and 14 last year against Nankervis and Briggs where Jackson rucked with Darcy out? He was cooked for 3 weeks after that.

He rucked the last 6 games solo and dominated and that was our best patch of the season, so hopefully it goes like that again. Also, in the game against Brisbane, he was up against Fort and not the Big O.

Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy has undergone an arthroscope on his left knee which will rule him out of the opening rounds of the AFL season.

Calm down babe, it's not a season ending injury. Literally just the first few rounds. Dr Google says 3-6 weeks.

The concerning thing in that report is he pulled up sore, the club quacks clear him to play, he was sore again after half a game and only then do they send him for scans. So an initially inaccurate and delayed diagnosis, in a professional athletic environment, risking aggravation of the injury and a longer time out of action. No excuses for that shit.

Hello darkness my old friend!

After Reidy was pantsed in the scratchie, actually sent us backwards in the game, my money is on Tabs playing with Tracey back up ruck. Not saying it’s best (would like to see Voss) but I reckon we all know it’s going to happen.
