In the hawks game playing forward he had about 4 or 5 contested marks. Tabs and Voss wouldn’t even get close. Really hope match committee isn’t that dumb.

If Taberner could wind back the clock to his prime years he’d do that easily.

Unfortunately I think it’s very unlikely to happen at this stage.

Oh they’re that dumb. They’re that dumb like a fox!! Remember some of the match committee howlers for the early part of last season? We’re all crying out for tall forward options and they keep rolling out trusty old Banners?

Can we give Max knobel a shot? Seemed to hold his own in intraclub and the current form in the scratchie of Reidy really concerns me.

Has to be Reidy, even if he only rucks 50% of TOG and spends 30% forward means Jackson only has to ruck 50% instead of 85%, we still get 30% of Jackson forward
Reidy is no good. Got slaughtered on the weekend. Josh Treacy to play back-up ruck. Jackson can go forward when Treacy goes into the ruck. Voss and Banfield can battle out for that medium tall role. Sturt sadly miles off it at the moment.

I'm always nervous when Freo wheel out the TBA.
Cox had a 6 week injury 8 weeks ago and is two weeks out from the start of the season and a "test"

I'll believe Darcy hasnt actually been amputated when I see him contest the opening bounce of a game

The concerning thing in that report is he pulled up sore, the club quacks clear him to play, he was sore again after half a game and only then do they send him for scans. So an initially inaccurate and delayed diagnosis, in a professional athletic environment, risking aggravation of the injury and a longer time out of action. No excuses for that s**t.
Sounds like a shitshow.

Especially for a pre-season game that meant nothing.

Sean Darcy it is!

I agree he shouldn't have played against Port but likely wasn’t damaged further.

The advantage would have been getting surgery a week earlier. Not sure why they didn’t scan it - maybe they did. Reports are NOD’s knee blew up after the Eagles scratchy and he did get scanned the following Mon.

As crazy as it sounds, Treacy in the ruck might not be such a bad idea. Less convinced about the third tall roll if it between Voss, Sturt and Banners.

That’s the problem with Treacy playing second ruck, when Jackson is having a spell on the bench and Treacy is rucking, who’s helping Amiss? No one, not decent enough anyway. Either Cox plays forward the whole game to take a defender away from Amiss, or we play Reidy or Knobel.

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even though the sun is shining, Freo can't avoid the lightning...

Few overreactions here. Those sound like very minor operations. We could see both available around Rounds 2-3.
The problem is that Darcy is already starting from further back with his interrupted preseason. that means we likely won't see him at his best this year, and if we do it won't be before the halfway point. And as pointed out, it's not just one issue because now we have to reshuffle our whole fwd setup. Considering how tough our first half of the year is I don't blame people for being a bit melty.
