Carlton are the pick for me as much as it hurts me to admit it.

Geelong's 5th easiest draw this year should see them rocket back up. But they're seeemingly 1 injury from imploding, their main group is older and I don't see how they've replaced Esava.
Port on the flip side I like the addition of Esava and Zerk (finally playing in his pref position) in the back. Should make them more solid in defence. 2nd hardest draw though.
Essendon seem to be training the house down, Mckay and a fit Reid finally looks to have a competent def, may surprise a few teams this year.

Given Walsh hasn't had a pre season in 2 years I reckon he can get plenty better. His regular season form was mediocre and he only came good towards the end of the year leading into finals.

Elijah Hollands has been one of our best performers all pre season as has TDK and the younger Ollie Hollands too. If you're standing out amongst Curnow, Cripps, Cerra, Walsh etc you're probably travelling alright I'd think.

I guess we can't all have players like Beau Mcreery who's going to go from B grade role player to All Australian Superstar like the Pies supposedly have about 10 of.

It's so strange that a supporter of a team full of role players that just won a flag would go down this route.

Yes, he has to date played double the number of games at VFL level than he has at AFL level.

I'm not sure why that proves a 21 year old former top 10 pick can't have an impact at a new club, but then again, logic hasn't exactly been utilized in your post to this point, so why start now?

Yes it's almost as if they can name any spuds they have lurking around the VFL or on the fringes and they'll all automatically improve but any of our players in a similar position are automatic busts or have no improvement left in them
