What about all the under 30s who had terrible injury runs? What about all the collision injuries?

The hammies etc piled up late in the season from too much workload due to those other injuries. And a terrible pre season. At the very least they'll give themselves a better chance this year.

We’ll just have to see, the collision injuries could get better or even worse.

I believe it was Joel Selwood when he retired that said something like he’s relieved he has finished up footy because his old body couldn’t take the rigours of AFL anymore. This is what is happening to your old players right now. They will not get hungrier in 2024, you think Hawkins is desperate for a 4th flag? I don’t think so.

No but they didn't party all summer and be stuck in post surgery recovery through to January-February. Fair enough if you don't think that'll make a difference but Geelong has had old lists for 14 seasons in a row and hasn't had back to back poor ones in that time. That'll happen once Dangerfield, Hawkins and co retire.

Like you said, we'll see. I think they'll be better than more than 3 teams, you don't. We can revisit it if you aren't banned by end of season.

Not this time. Before 2022 they had the hunger. Dangerfield especially had the eye of tiger and played like a man possessed in the 22 finals series.

I see Geelong right now as Rocky was in Rocky 3, satisfied with the championship and will get clobbered by more desperate teams.
Clobbered by Clubber in effect

It's so close competition, that I could easily see you playing finals if all goes well but also ending up in bottom 6.

Probably not as desperate as some teams on the up, older line-up with higher chance of injuries, home stadium advantage, Guthrie injury could hurt.

First game at home against Saints will be telling.

I tell you want they are not lacking- a 3 peat, 5 grand finals, heap of brown lows and the best side of the modern era. Yeah really lacking……..appears your user name is on the money anyway.
the modern era starts next year or the year after or the one after that - see what nuffery gets you -nuffin

Yeah I do, I said 12-14th. That’s more than 3 teams.

12. Port Adelaide

You should watch the replay of the Port v Adelaide practice match before you predict Port to drop 9 positions. Sure, it's just a silly pre-season game, but it shows enough of a lot of very good players to perhaps cure you of whatever crazy magical thinking has taken place.

Cornes predicted Port may fall out of the 8 this year so it isn't completely beyond the realms of possibility.

1. Cornes is very close to being a moron, and usually takes adversarial positions re port, to avoid being seen as totally biased. Using what Kane Cornes says about anything as evidence is so fraught .... I don't know where to start with you.
2. Falling out of the 8 may be ninth, which is way less unlikely than 12th. A drop of 9 positions is rare but occasionally happens. What is the evidence making that likely, given we still have Butters, Rozee, an improved JHF, a Wines with a preseason under his belt, and improved backline?

Butters will be at Essendon within two years.
