I thought the Tribunal had moved to a model where they don't take any evidence from the players, on account of the players tending to give evidence that was not factual. Ranging from "No, your honour, he certainly didn't hit me. This? Oh, my jaw is just wired because ... I needed help managing my diet." to "He absolutely pinched me 400 times."

And the AFL is even more fixated that appeals only work out on legal technicalities, not anything a player might say about what they did or why, so any sign of Fyfe showing up probably would have counted against him.

I thought they prevented players from giving supporting evidence for a charged player.
There was a time where players gave victim evidence to understate the charges against opposition players
Under some misguided code of honour.
Obviously that wasn’t the case for Boomer who barefaced declared “ yes your honour, Crowley pinched me 400 times throughout the game”.

There was no bump attempt . Fyfe is backing towards goals . The eagle player approaches and puts his arms up to presumably push Fyfe . Fyfe puts arms up and his tight hand hits the eagle in side off head

So no not protecting shoulders

I saw the video too. It looked to me like he was going to make deliberate contact with Nat’s shoulder.
This was a long way off the ball and was unnecessary by the eagles player. It could be argued Nat was protecting a shoulder that has previously been reconstructed.

Hmm must be a different video

The video just shows two blokes pushing at each other . No charge by one at the other . Sadly Fyfes arm and hand went high and hit the other

Culley was doing it all day. I am still p1ssed at how he got away with his cowardly slam on Serong after he kicked a goal.
