He’s been shit since the bye

Thought he was good on the weekend, resembled the player we need him to be every week

Not the whole time, had some down games though

He was AA standard before the bye, has been well below it since.

The Hawks and Bombers games he was downright awful and was a big factor in our losses.

Ryan so underrated on here, most clubs would love to have him, if we get 2 in the team, he will be the 2nd one.

I like his intercepting and kicking (except for kick-outs) but some of his defending when required of him is pretty poor at times.

Ryan’s kick outs weren’t much worse if at all than the vast majority of his kicks in the second half of the season. Just a lot of pointless sideways kicks and long bombs to packs. He become sh**e again just when Cox came back into the side.

But this type of game gets him high disposal and high disposal efficiency so looks amazing on the stat sheet and gets him into these BS teams. Any kick not marked by the opposition and over 40m is an efficient disposal under BS statistic that should be scrapped by all people that keep AFL statistics immediately.

Great interceptor but poor decision maker with ball in hand (but can be good sometimes which is why it’s frustrating). The AA team is BS anyway. McPharlin got one AA - enough said.

Both were forced to be more accountable for an opponent which is something neither are particularly good at.

FWIW I thought Ryan has been poor the last month but he was pretty good yesterday, I think Georgiades got the mismatch on him once

5 players in the squad is nice but I think only Serong makes it

His second half was not good, particularly after Pearce went down. Whether or not that was a role change is irrelevant to the fact that he just wasn't good apart from a game or two in the second half of the year.

What the **** do our forwards have to do with Ryan being AA standard or not? He's been crap for the most part since the Sydney game, his roles on Sicily and Stringer were big reasons why we lost those games, and his high disposal numbers inflate his output in the eyes of oppo supporters and those who aren't watching every one of our games.

Because every time the ball is turned over quickly in our forward line ( most entries ) it’s back in defence before you know it

Those guys are continually under siege in our team and if they weren’t as good as they are we would be way further down the ladder

Yeah mate, the AA panel doesn't take into account how bad your forward line is when they choose the defenders. They chose them based on how they defend.

Yeah mate, the AA panel doesn't take into account how bad your forward line is when they choose the defenders. They chose them based on how they defend.

Ryan isn't getting bonus points from the AA panel because our forwards let the ball out too easily and it makes it harder for him to defend.

Hence our forwards have no impact on his AA selection so there's really no reason for you to have brought them up in the first place.

I don't think you can question their effort before the season and during it, and giving a not so subtle nudge to players who aren't without naming them might get the message across.
