Interesting that Garlic didn't choose to apply for the Freo job but was then contacted by Gilion McLachlan who suggested he (Garlic) should apply? Not sure why Gil would buy into that considering he was the CEO of the AFL at the time?

I suppose the AFL CEO has a strong interest in helping ensure clubs are well run, which means the right people in the key positions.
Also possible someone at the club called him and asked him to assist.

Good to see the fair distribution of air time for each club in the new AFL ad. Hawks get a minute of highlights while Freo get .01 seconds...Nice. It's not like we didn't have any highlights for the year.

It's the same old, same old. I just wanna see them win the Flag; that might shut them up or 'force' their hand to actually cover the Dockers. Hardly unexpected after all this time, but still piss poor
Let’s stay under the radar.
Not unlikely that it’s just a mentoring thing and/or McLachlan keen on seeing Garlic back in the AFL. I.e. not really about our search and more about an already existing relationship between McLachlan and Garlic.

With the amount of airtime we get we have no choice.
Sauvignon Blanc - I often hear SB call my name and the the more I drink SB the more I like SB.
Alternatively, let's acknowledge that a lot of our footy was fairly unattractive to watch to the neutral observer while Hawks played some pretty exciting footy.
It's like complaining that we don't get many Friday night games yet we have a habit of shitting the bed when we do. Or complain about the draw.
Winners have parties, losers have meetings and complain about decisions.
We start winning regularly and these issues take care of themselves.

I'm not acknowledging that our footy was 'fairly unattractive'. There was a bit to like about the way we tried to play and a lot to like when we got it right. We lost a lot of close games which says to me that we weren't that far off.
I don't care about Friday games to be honest. Its been way to hard to get down to optus on a Friday night. Now the train line is open it might be easier.
All I'm saying is that every team had a highlight from 2024. Hawks weren't the be all and end with their catchphrase footy.

same. Try Kim Crawford if you haven't already. Often on sale at Uncle Dan's for a resonable price and has low preservative so alwys feel much better the next day. I prefer my SB with ice cause I'm not fancy and it's really hot at the moment.
