Yup, I've been in contact with a reporter.

They've found some very interesting answers when they looked into this issue:

"The AFL are adamant it has nothing to do with them. This would be a club decision, not the AFL’s. The person I just spoke to said his best guess was that North plans to use the new function space in that area, and that would mean that seating can’t be available. But again, that’s a club call.

The AFL spokesperson asked their team and they were adamant there is no new seating being offered from the AFL, and that this had nothing to do with them, beyond the redevelopment offering new function options, which North appears to allude to in that email".

The feeling of betrayal is rising...

Best guess?

It's not people saying it - the club has stated get out and this is the reason. They are fully in control of the narrative here - any flak is self inflicted.

Bingo.

just found the true reason, turns out Todd Goldstein is being made a life member and bays 35-39 are now reserved for the family and kids.

before going off your off your nut, important to distinguish the 'official' club response from anything a sales rep / customer service kid struggling to keep his job might say.
I spoke to the membership manager Calum Moment who stated that decisions around seats had been ratified by the membership department, the admin team (inc CEO) and the board. He’s not a junior…….

I emailed the club and got a response

Some highlights from the response

"that we have had to move our seating across a few bays due to Marvel Stadium and the AFL reclassing those seats at the conclusion of the redevelopment at the beginning of 2024."

"As you are a Premiership Club Reserved Bay member and not a reserved seat member it doesn't directly impact you as such, it just means that you have a different area of seating options and will no longer have access top bays 35 to 39."

Doesn't directly impact me, just can't sit on the wing that I pay $100 a game for

Hahaha.

They wrote the word ‘different’ but what it should have said is ‘inferior’.

Response from who at the club?

LOL, I've read it and interestingly, this thread isn't the only source of info on the matter.

Let's see what happens when more info emerges ...
Please just go and have a spell and let the adults sort this out. You’re not affected so please stop with the crap. I have 11 seats that are now in a terrible position and I have no come back based on what the club has told me. We then have a reputable journalist all but confirm what we've been told is not entirely truthful. I and others here have every right at this point in time to be scathing in how this has been handled and sceptical about the reasons put forward.

So they are still saying it's not the club's choice - it's AFL/Marvel. Should be easy enough to confirm if that is so.

And yet the AFL/Marvel say it’s not their decision it’s the club - this stinks to high heaven……

LOL, rightio big dog, you were the ultimate mature professional with your 3.5/10 accuracy breathless "leaks" about Clarko last year.

But what would I know about how the media works.

As you were, best create negative press for the club on a matter where you don't have all the facts.

That's the real adult approach.

(Your reputable journalist "all but confirming" lolololololololol.)

North need to come out and say what is actually happening and put everything back to the way it was and start afresh with a different approach.
Maybe talk to those involved first as this one has hit a hornets nest.
Its becoming clear that the club is being run by those in Administration who have no idea on the effects of the supporters involved as they might only being looking at it as just a job which l think some , not all, do..

As I said - this should be simple to determine. One party is not quite telling the facts.
Could it be they have been reclassified as more expensive for the club to reserve so they decided to leave them due to spare seats elsewhere?

I was 100% correct with everything on Clarkson hence the outcome and I stand by every post I made. The rest of what you wrote is dribble. The journo works for the Age and has asked not to be named. How about you go do some detective work Columbo.
We aren’t creating negative anything for the club they’ve created that themselves.
Now unless you have seats that are affected please sod off from this thread.

Hmm but I always sit in there and buy the product to sit there

Whatever has happened must be categorised as a shit show and been handled extremely poorly thus far.

The club needs to come clean with something definitive about what’s happened. If it means a mea culpa and grovelling apology with restoration of seating to those of us that have been impacted then so be it.

The club should be using this as impetus for a full review of our member services with a view that the club needs to operate on a members first ethos on all matters. This includes Tasmania and exit strategy, seating and match day experience, membership kits (especially for kids) and general member engagement.

I am Aisle 37 level 2 along with my cousins. Have been for many years. Wouldn’t be able to tell you the membership category as I don’t get a card anymore and they direct debt in October. It’s circa 690 a year. I would be disappointed if I have to move. I only get to a few games these days as we have young kids and Saturday Sunday afternoon is not ideal. I am sure the club will communicate the issue clearly.

Good for you ratting on the club because you're desperate for attention.
