Yeah I was disappointed when the Browns let Mayfield go, thought he had makings of a good QB

But as you say, people need hard times to realise the effort required to make it to the top and what we are seeing from him now is the result of that.
He now knows every game might be the last he might play as a starter in the NFL and he is not going to give it up without a fight.

Just on Stroud he definitely is struggling a little more but I think most QBs would struggle behind that OL. He’s still pulled some very impressive passes.

As for Mayfield he did have a very good second season at the Browns .. and that was probably the best his OL performed during his time there.

Steelers would be the reverse of this, often down or even at halftime then win the 2nd half.
Eagles tend to do it.

Not sure if we're coached offensively, or the bad opening script runs out.

Defensively Fangio adjusts like crazy.

I just think with Mayfield, say, it's still stupid to get rid of the QB you picked 1st overall if he wasnt a complete bust, showed mettle and ability. If he needed humbling or some growth, that's what the club is there for, the coaches etc, to find a way to make him work or work better. New OCs, new HC, some vet QB to back him up who could help him that he connects with.

I was going to say, Cleveland make a lot of awful calls and they're in the mess they constantly are due to no one but themselves.

However, it's pretty ordinary that your gun QB needs to move away to grow up/mature before starting to shine.
