CeeDee Lamb (contract dispute) and the Cowboys agreed to terms Monday on a four-year, $136 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lamb's contract dispute saw him miss the entirety of training camp and the preseason, but the star wide receiver now gets his new deal with roughly two weeks remaining to ramp up for Dallas' matchup against the Browns in Week 1. In addition to a $38 million signing bonus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Lamb's new contract includes $100 million guaranteed. The deal makes Lamb the second-highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history, and keeps him linked to Dak Prescott and the Cowboys for the foreseeable future. Fresh off a 2023 campaign in which he tallied 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 scores (on 181 targets) across 17 regular-season games, Lamb is again in prime position to produce as one of the top wide receivers in the league as the unquestioned No. 1 option in Dallas' uptempo, pass-heavy offense.

Juju back to the Chiefs
Not sure how thats going to work. Rice plays his position and does it better, too slow to contribute on special teams or as a boundary WR, seems a waste of a roster spot.

WR4 on the minimum, decent depth if required. Better to have him than not
But he barely gets on the field, Rice doesnt run deep routes so its not like he needs a rest and he cant contribute on ST. The only way it would make sense to me is if they are worried that Rice could get suspended at some stage this season

Unless the NFL are going to suspend Rice which seems unlikely until the case gets to court.

Jags/Fins and Browns/Dallas loaded into the ESPN schedule for week 1.
Saints/Dallas and Cinci/KC for week 2

Both weeks still have the other 1PM game unannounced.

Houston/Indy, Titans/Bears or Pitt/Atlanta seem likely for week 1 on either 7 of the other ESPN game

Cameron Thomas (DE) has been traded to the Chiefs in exchange for a seventh-round pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Thomas tallied 40 tackles (20 solo) and three sacks across 32 games in Arizona the last two seasons. He will now compete for snaps as a depth defensive end option for the defending champions.

Bleacher Reports’ Jordan Schultz reports, “Multiple teams have reached out to the Texans to see if WR John Metchie III would be available in a trade due to the plethora of receivers on their roster.”
Metchie caught 10 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the preseason and appears to be fully back after missing all of 2022 while battling leukemia. The former second-rounder is, at best, fourth on the Texans’ receiver depth chart and won’t be in line for much playing time as long as Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell are healthy. Metchie caught 16 passes for 158 scoreless yards last season while playing 44.5 percent of his snaps from the slot, per PFF. In college, Metchie played primarily out wide, and at 5-foot-11, 187 pounds, he has the size to play out wide or in the slot as a pro. There are a handful of teams who could put Metchie to work as a starter if the Texans are willing to part with him. This remains a situation to watch with roster cutdowns looming.

Metchie back with Bryce from their Alabama days might be interesting, couldn't imagine he'd be very expensive. We probably need a slot guy with Thielen near the end.
Your plan has one hitch. the Panthers are allergic to smart ideas
