Weird trade of Davion Mitchell and Venzenkov for Jalen McDaniels. That clears 8 mill of salary of the books but in a guy like Davion Mitchell they actually lost a okayish player.

Not sure what the plan is here or why they want that cap space

A lot of white guys plied their trade in the state of Indiana. A state rich in history and basketball folklore. Tremendous spot to land imo for the fur burger.

Point of clarification, please:

Does "fur burger" mean the same in Australian idiom as in the US?

They agreed to a $78m new deal with Malik Monk but if they don’t shed some salary before they actually sign the deal, then it would cap them at the first apron…I agree that it seems like a steal for TOR but that’s the intent of the new CBA; it actually has consequences that teams want to avoid

Completely forgot about the Monk signing. Makes a ton of sense when you look at it that way

As above, tax apron. It's not just luxury tax payments now, it actually limits your roster possibilities going forward.

They also took another guard in the lottery yesterday in addition to re-signing Monk. So it's not only a salary dump, but clears a logjam and a roster spot.

Hmm Rich Paul telling teams not to take Bronny James now he missed out on first round. Rumors are NBL offered him a decent deal to be part of the All Stars program. Could see him at Illawara myself

Rich Paul is one the worst things to ever happen to the NBA.

It's staggering that tampering continues to be an open secret in the league still. It's not even questioned. It's all probably moot since Bronny is a long shot to make it anyway, but it still stinks to high heaven.

No issue with a father wanting the best for his son, but going to the Lakers was not the best option for the youngster, should have been away from dad.

And gee who would want to be JJ now, superstars son sitting on the bench not getting any game time, cannot work out well for him :)

As that Haralgous Volgaris (spelling?)(former NBA gambler and analyst for the Mavs) said does Rich Paul represent his clients best interests, or the Lakers. When sitting court side he heard RP openly saying how lucky KCP was to be on the Nuggets and winning another ring. He represents KCP...

He needs to be thrown out but all the agencies have too much power. Trade rumours now boil down to who represents the player. "oh he's a CAA guy so likely to go to CAA knicks", is utter madness to even be suggested, but it's how they got OG whilst RJ went to the raps who have alot of his agencies players I think. Whole thing needs to be blown up from an agent POV
