Moore and Day sound like will be back in first month.

Unclear if CJ and DGB were really in best 22 (CJ has missed a lot of footy).

Blanck is really only best 22 player out for the long-term. And have an experienced replacement in Frost. And timing meant could add depth in Phillips.

We’re still in pretty good shape. But have a relatively hard start to season.
Cj is a big loss for mine, offers a lot in defence and plays in to Mitchell’s style, he was in for a huge year but now with the build up injuries we would be cautious

Gutted for DGB but like others have said, I didn’t see him playing much seniors footy this first part of the year, even with the current injuries. Needs to go past the likes of Frost and Scrim to get a spot, and blokes like Serong look to have gone past him too.

Hope he’s able to put on some size and give it a real crack in the back half.

They’ll be extra cautious with Day, as they are with CJ.

I'd prefer if we are extra cautious with both. Day's injury is a terrible one to manage and could have lasting long term repercussions if not managed properly.

We need to be patient with CJ too, given his persistent issues.

We aren't fighting for top four this season, it's another season of development and embedding the game plan. So being patient is the way to go.

Real shame for DGB, that's obviously the last thing he needed heading into a crunch season for him personally.

Now our defensive tall stocks are reduced to - Sicily, Phillips, Weddle, Scrimshaw, Frost and Serong. Too many hybrid players that aren't true KPD's in that group. Though it could be fun watching Sicily, Scrimshaw, Serong and Weddle play aerially aggressive defensive footy.

That's my thought too. The disappointment is more for the players involved than for the impact these injuries will have on the team's performance in what I still consider to be a development year for the club. There is some merit in seeing these set-backs as an opportunity to test our depth players, although DGB and maybe Blanck were two of the players we most wanted to see develop this season.

Context.

I've been on the receiving end of SIMILAR behaviour, generally reversed for moments when I can't react, done so by mates who know I can be a bit serious at times.

In the immediate moment when I'm free to react, it's only humorous. And I don't give it a second thought afterwards. It's also not a frequent occurrence.

In the right setting by the right person and received in the intended way, I don't see a massive problem.

However, my point stands that Chol's experience may have been entirely negative, and considering the fine line this behaviour treads it is paramount that the club response is swift and appropriate. It appears as though it may not have been.
Are you and your friends like 12 years old?

Seriously, you need to have a think about what is going on here with your friends.

the three injuries from the intra-club practice match came 18th (Blanck) 29th (Jiath) and 31st (DGB) in the Hawthorn 2023 Best and Fairest count. Now that they are all injured, they have become world-beaters vital to the success on-field in 2024.
Wish them all the very best and hoping for a speedy recovery, but seriously, get a grip.

BNF is pointless to bring up.

We had one KPD to rely on in Blanck, now we are forced to play Frost, who is a liability.

CJ was injured for much of the season, so of course his BNF position would not be flattering.

The gameplan that Mitchell is wanting to employ will be run/pace heavy, and as such CJ was shaping up to be an important component playing off a wing. Now we have no blistering pace on the outside.

One advantage of the hyperventilating over the preseason injuries is that the press is running with it hard, trying to write off the Hawthorn season before it starts. While I'm sure no teams will be fooled by this Chicken Little-ism, it will lead to some nice media content if the team turns up to play as we expect.

That was unnecessary. I think you are out of touch with reality.
