Thoughts on Ward playing on the ball more? I thought it was more his strength than the wing?

It is a tricky one because to take Nash and Worpel out who cannot play secondary positions would stifle the team, but long term?
It would nearly be like moving on Titch and JOM to get Ward in there more to develop. Tough decision.
I actually really like him as a winger. His defensive running is absolutely fantastic, allows our other winger to be a lot more attacking.

I like Ward on the wing too, love to see Hustwaite get games in the guts along with Mackenzie, Sam wants Weddle to learn the game at half back for now but i go weak at the knees thinking about when he has done his apprenticeship and heads to the wing or midfield in a year or two. Maybe Butler gets a crack at the wing, or Ambrosio, both could be more attacking.

Yes i like the idea of Ward locking down one wing and attacking on the other wing with Massimo / Amon rotate 🫰

HH and Mackensize look primed for the middle to go with Duke,Nash,Worps!
We will need to add some dash and dare to that mix!
- Duke will be a good forward option deep add some goals to his game (Martin, Petracca, Cogs)
- Nash could be handy resting back. Lock down a player, a good height to provide a fist in the contest, 3rd man up!

Kosi nowhere near it.
All the tigers forwards have been pretty poor. Kosi easily the worst of the lot.

He has zero footy IQ. Has all the physical attributes but it matters little when he always manages to be where the ball isn’t.

Koschitze 2 touches half time. I would say Chol is a fair upgrade 30+ this year.
Big improvement on the 9+18 in the previous years.
Only got pick 49 or whatever it was and still Richmond come off massive losers

You could probably add Day into that mix;) I can't see Worps as part of our future unfortunately. Good player, but can't dispose of it as well as the others and we can't carry too many of these guys as we'll lack dash in that mix. Ward looks like he could slide in there as well quite comfortably.

So are Nash and Hustwaie 198 and 195 cm respectively??

Massive if correct. Crippa is 195.

Nash just has to be in there. He's a freakin unicorn.

Reeves 210cm
Nash 198cm
Hus 195cm
Weddle 193cm
Day 191cm
Newk/Frenchy 188cm

That has to potentially be the tallest centre + follower line ever assembled in AFL footy? Average height of 195cm.

Kosi should be a third tall forward or a defender. At least as a defender he can just stick to a task and make the most of this athleticism, whilst mitigating his lack of footy nous.

Also, you know he going to kick 5 on us.
That’s a lot of really awkward double cobras!

IF they both cant mark, and the tap work is ineffective

Meek offers much more at stoppage

Happy to be in the minority though
It was a praccy but from what I saw Reeves played fairly well without being dominant .
Meek looks a very good VFL player who isnt good enough for AFL . Whether he does get there , who knows at this stage .

Reeves was getting burnt by Darcy consistently, and for a main ruck against a developing one, he should have been dominating out of the center

Reeves isn't bad, its just concerning i guess he is being beaten by that level of ruck

So we gonna ignore his efforts in real matches (including destroying English and matching Gawn) in favour of a practice match?

Will be up against English this week. Has a decent record against him actually.

I wouldnt read too much into praccy games tbh .
Ive seen enough of Reeves , when fit at worst he competes well and actually has performed very well against the better AFL rucks .
Some opposition also rate him as a key part of our team.

Meek competes but is far more limited in what he offers beyond that

Reeves is going to lose around the ground. It's just the nature of his style of ruck, unless he can transform into an endurance machine the same way Gawn did it's just always gonna happen.

I feel like this discredits Darcy a bit too, who was the 2nd pick in the national draft 3 years ago. He's 208cm and a very natural athlete, he will probably start burning far more players than Reeves this year.
