Jarman Impey and Karl Amon providing counter attack for Teal

1/2 Time Gold 6 Teal 3

Gold- Lewis, Watson, Hardwick, Hustwaite, Chol and Ginnivan 1 each

Teal - Amoroso, Gunston, Rule

Hustwaite has been the best mid for the first half imo, Reeves dominating the ruck for Gold with the less experienced midfield, Worpel has been Teals best mid so far, Sicily and Newcombe not playing at top intensity for Teal imo

  • Bit of media around, a few cameras plus Kingy, Josh Gabelich and Mitch Cleary
  • Huddo and Parko also watching on from the grandstand
  • Quick hands around the 50 leads to Dimma lacing out Mitch Lewis running into the goalsquare. Gold first goal.
  • Sicily picking up a small, Watson or Ginnivan
  • Watson’s ability to collect the ball at speed is incredible
  • Mackenzie lively, got a free kick and hits Ginni in fwd pocket
  • Some of the kicking has been fairly poor early
  • Gunston smart fwd craft marks in pocket plays on and snaps the goal
  • I can’t spot Moore, not aure he’s out there
  • Newcombe so powerful
  • Throw in just outside gold 50m, Hustwaite clean pickup and break away from stoppage. Runs through 50 and slots one from 45. Gets applause from the crowd.
  • Siren blows, Mackenzie probably the standout that quarter. Croc and Hustwaite solid.

Score: Gold 4.1 25 Blue 2.1 13

Q2
  • Bodie Ryan great contested intercept mark
  • DGB kicks a bit of a long floater inside 50. Chol reads it best and marks in a pack. Kicks truly.
  • Watto great intensity, came from out of position to spol Jars. Celebrated by teammates.
  • Nash tries to take on Butler, gets caught holding the ball. Great tackle.
  • Sicily spoils over Lewis, Lewis appears to be quite sore after the hit.
  • Daysy coaching from the boundary with a headset on. Sammy coaching from upstairs.
  • Hustwaite just a clearance beast.
  • Terrible turnover in the backline by Sicily goes straight to Ginnivan who runs in and dribbles a goal from 25m out.
  • Choll grabs it straight out of the ruck, gives handball and then gets it back and streams forward before kicking long inside 50. Could be very damaging pinch hitting in the ruck as well.
  • Frost crunches Dimma in a head on tackle but seems to come out worse off. Comes to the bench for some assistance.
  • Noodle drops a sitter, has been disappointing so far. Meek has had the better of him.
  • Newcombe fantastic delay under pressure and give to Weddle on the run. “Ooohhs” from the crowd.
  • Jars has had a lot of the footy, been solid.
  • Ginnivan’s workrate has been impressive.

Score: Gold 6.1 37 Blue 3.2 25 (I think)

I'd call it off. Another injury in this quarter would be disastrous.
Don't be silly. We played fine without CJ for most of last season.

Moore and Day being out early season isn't ideal but they're gaps we can make up for, and they're not season ending.

Isaac Heeney had glandular fever a few years ago but it didn't affect for him long like it did Will Phillips.

Doesn't rule Moorey out of any footy but probably rules him out of my Supercoach side. The forward options this year are pretty diabolical too.

Also, CJ hasn't missed a lot of pre-season. If this is a 3-4 week hammy (hopefully) then he'd still be touch and go for round 1.

Need to find the silver linings.

Big Henry appears to doing pretty well according to reports!

Injuries are the worst part of pre season, we won't be the only team that gets them though. Fortunately we've had a healthy list for most of it and moore , cj, day have completed a big chunk of it.
