85k, beautiful sunny, all the old legends there.

…..a we were swamped by a total Shitnami.

Cowan was good, Crippa/Acres plugged away.

Hmmmmm…
Those 3 are heart and you know Acres is playing hurt and Cripps probably as well. We have a lot who can’t handle a niggle on our list.

Was at the game but for some reason not quite across what happened with injuries. Can someone tell me who got injured, what injury and when in the game?
Martin and fog cleaned up each other (hamstring and collarbone), Boyd lower leg I think when he made that massive spoil, MCG shoulder in the third, acres came in with a sore shoulder but played through it, msaad did his hamstring in the third and Curnow rerolled the same ankle as last week (and many previous weeks) quite badly in the last.

Pittonet ossified at some point and is now 71% stone

Probably working out for the better atm will hopefully force the club to do what they should have done last year .

Ditch some of these injury prone players maybe even make a tougher call on a big name player Cerra ? .
The amount of in game injuries we've had over the past 5 years has been insane .
Regenerate at the trade & draft table & go again .

No doubt we have the top end talent (Cripps Weitering Curnow Saad Walsh Mckay that are mostly durable .

We just don't have a good support cast to support them .

We must just must inject some run & breakaway speed into our midfield

It's a fine line in this extremely even comp between where we were after the Geelong game & now .
Couple of key injuries on top of an already diabolically fragile list & it can all come tumbling down quickly .

Looking at our bench finishing with 1 fit player is so Carlton thats our main issue .

We got away with the injuries last year but you just can't keep competing & expecting to go deep into finals with our continual injury malaise .
Continuity within a list is crucial .

Will the club have the balls this time not so sure...

I assume Charlie Martin Fogarty Boyd Saad all not available next week?

No one really to come back?

Binns Lord Carroll surely play. Then it’s a raffle

I’ve spent so many weeks thinking the likes of Binns etc will be selected and getting rejected that even now, even when it seems a certainty he’ll get picked out of sheer necessity, I still won’t believe it till I see it.

Absolutely putrid. Sure some injuries...but we were screwed from the start. Totally outplayed by a bunch of kids...embarrassing.

**** Martin off...give him to whoever wants him List clogger at this point. Ollie Hollands...not convinced. Charlie looks cooked.

2 tackles in our forward 50 for the game. Reprehensible.

First things first, we’ve underachieved this season. No doubt.

But contrary to many on here, I think the club cares deeply and the players care deeply. What is being taken for indifference, laziness, gutlessness, etc in my view is a group of players who have hit the wall physically and mentally. The injuries today are evidence of that.

That we’ve reached this point is something I attribute to 15 months of attempting to play contest and high pressure footy. Melbourne is the other club who plays like us, and they are in the same boat. It is a style of football which simply isn’t sustainable.

The problem is that without pace and footskills, contest and pressure is all you’ve got. We haven’t got speed and we struggle to find targets. And that will be one of the post mortems we need to have.

For the younger types around here, the years 1992-1994 are hopefully instructive. In 1992 we lost our last few to miss the finals. In 1993 we fell at the grand final and found out more about our list. The same happened again in 1994. By 1995 we had added Pearce and Clape because we knew we lacked mid sized forwards, we added Manton because we knew we lacked flexibility in defence, and we added Camporeale and blooded Whitehead to add pace. We still lacked pace in 1995, but we had a baseline we could fall back on if we needed it. Autonomy was handed over to senior players who had the experience to know what they were doing.

The mark of this club will be in how we learn from 2022-2024. I still remember the interview with Cook in the Age during the middle of 2023 where he said he wasn’t as enamoured with the list as others. On reflection, the 2023 run home probably prevented the clean out he had envisaged. So it has set us back somewhat. But I’m confident the lessons can be learnt about 2022-2024 as a club, and that we can hit 2025 with some fixes in place.

Feel your pain. My wife, daughter and sister all Hawks supporters. I even bought my daughter a blues jersey when she was 3, but she ditched it a few years later in favour of the brown and yellow. Kind of glad for her she did - being a blues supporter is a tough gig.
The horror.

Just need someone like DeGoey or The package to be dropped by their club and Voss offering 2 first rounders to nab them.

That will definitely be it from him and the club, what have we stood for in the last 25 years? The idiots hanging on to the 16 flags. Not going to renew my membership can't afford it anymore, this club is rotten.

This will finally be the circuit breaker to address some serious issues with our list that SOS left us with.

We need to remove Martin, Marchbank and Cuningham. We need to consider what role Williams can play.

We need to find a small forward who doesn’t go missing/only applies pressure.

We need speed in the middle - so big calls on midfielders.

Yes injury management needs to be looked at, but if we continue to pick up or persist with injury plaqued players the curse will continue.

Poor excuses…

I’m not going to say to much about that loss.
Just absolutely gutted!
will we show some resolve and bounce back next week?)not sure if we have it in us now for differing reasons)
We just start getting players back and now the injury list is blown to the shizen again!
Anyhow, we have imo alot bigger issues with this team than injuries
