Amartey for all his limitations is a better mark and kick for goal than Ladhams. The latter will be a liability on the fwd line. Watching him in the aressies last year it was clear the guy lacks a lot of forward craft. (Was bloody selfish as well)

If a Ladhams plays surely he gets no more than 16-20% game time.

I think we must be wary about the pre season matches, the last of which was played in crap conditions.
I am not worried about the forward line this week, I am concerned about the ruck.

Gawn looks in fantastic nick and will probably ruck nearly the entire game. He will obliterate Mclean or Amartey if they are backing up Grundy and the clearances are going to be our most vulnerable area against Melbourne.

I don't want to gas Grundy so early in the season by having him play nearly the entire game when we have options.

I'd pick Ladhams this week.

It's only for one week. Collingwood the following week is completely different.

Big betting move on the Dees with Swans now at $1.88 v Dees at $1.96. It was $1.50 v $2.50 before the Lions praccy.

Such easy cash. Might shout Bedders a couple of beers even at $12 a can.

Got this easy.

Melbourne won't be able to cope at the postage stamped size SCG, compared to the commodious MCG.

PS McInerney to get plenty of on-ball minutes and repeat his heroics from the game v NM in 2022. :thumbsu:
Love that when we win and oppo fans immediately blame the size of the ground.

So I recently got a new job in the produce department at woolworths in paddington. It's a pretty cushy job and generally i can hide out the back most of my shift. One morning, Sam Reid came in and asked me if we had any 'organic pears' in the back room because the ones up front 'didn't look great.' I explained to him we would be getting our produce delivery in the following morning and he could come back then, or we have regular pears available in the next row.

Sam did not like this answer.

After yelling at me for 5 minutes, he said he was going to have me fired and demanded to speak with my manager. My manager came out and pretty much repeated everything that i had said. Eventually Sam stormed out of the store, but before he got out the door he turned and said, 'I'll be back tomorrow to get my pears, but I don't know what my bird is going to eat today. He only eats organic!'

And he's back with Talls Tales and True. :tongueoutv1:

That’s your opinion

Still think we need a jump

15th place after 17 rounds last season

We played horrible most of the year
We played horribly with a lack of tall backs & at one stage Lloyd as our only experienced back. The next was Robbins Fox.

I did not think we would make it anywhere near the eight. We made it under controversial circumstances. I would have been happy not to make it as I knew we were not going any further. The players who did play all year were exhausted. That showed in the Dees game

Good to see you back again. I'd been wondering what Sam was up to over the break?

For some reason, this post has made my day.

Isn't the tall backs the Kiwi basketball team

Too tall. Move McInerney forward. Campbell, Gulden and Jordon take the wings.
B: Cunningham, McCartin, Rampe
HB: Lloyd, Melican, Blakey
C: Jordon, Gulden, Campbell
HF: Heeney, McDonald, Warner
F: Papley, McLean, Wicks
Foll: Grundy, Rowbottom, Sheldrick

I/C: Florent, McInerney, Roberts, Amartey

Sub: Fox

Yeah I thought about tht later. He is incredibly mobile though. No McInerney. Too valuable up the ground. I want to see Florent & Campbell further up the ground. Campbell closer to goal. sit him 540 out anf let him have pop shots all night. He played forward in the All Stars game & kicked 4 goals. Let him have the half forward possie. Drop Heens back to goal. He can lead one way, McDonald another & Amartey another with McLean taking the big ones.

My Team;

Heeney Amartey McLean

Wicks McDonald Papley

Gulden Rowbottom Mcinerney

Lloyd McCartin Blakey

Rampe Melican Cunningham

Grundy Jordan Warner

Interchange; Florent, Campbell, Roberts, Sheldrick

Sub; Fox

I would like to see Campbell & Florent push up the ground more. Campbell sitting about 50 metres from goal. Florent to the wing. Roberts back. But then mix them up at half back too freeing Roberts up for a run on the ball. Fox was only ok in the trial games this year. He had a slow start last year too. Harry seems to have gotten over his slow starts. The thing about this line up is it has huge flexibility. Most players in the mids & on the wings can play back if needed, go forward or play wing or inside. this line up is all flexibility

Does Campbell just stay on the arc !

Gold.
