While experience will no doubt be missed, we can’t boast about Gulden, Warner and to a lesser extent Sheldrick and Jordon and then show no faith in them as supporters.
Throw in Heeney and sometimes Papley as midfield support and this could be a massive win. The injuries are unfortunate but we could definitely be 3-1 or 2-2 by the time they’re coming back.

Maybe the 1st bitIs it possible that, due to lack of match fitness, Sheldrick is the 23rd player and Roberts goes to the midfield? Gus is a more powerful ball winner but Roberts has hit this pre-season in ripping nick.
I also had that identical thought, is Sam Reid a smokey chance? And, if so, at whose expense?
I think any games Reid plays this year will be almost entirely contingent on Amartey's form and fitness. Is it possible that, due to lack of match fitness, Sheldrick is the 23rd player and Roberts goes to the midfield? I've got Sheldrick as sub. Think there will be a few meltdowns when it happens but I would be happy with that decision based on what I saw.Is it possible that, due to lack of match fitness, Sheldrick is the 23rd player and Roberts goes to the midfield? I'd be stunned if this was the case Ticks. Missing not one, not two, but three of our contested inside players, to not play a kid adjacent to them in style (if not experience, quality etc. yet) would be a massive call.I've got Sheldrick as sub. We might just back in our rebound gameI'd be stunned if this was the case Ticks. Missing not one, not two, but three of our contested inside players, to not play a kid adjacent to them in style (if not experience, quality etc. yet) would be a massive call.
I do but i'm hearing a lot of other fans saying we will be in for a rough day. What a strange question , have you no faith Mr Hunt

I am not worried about the forward line this week, I am concerned about the ruck.
Gawn looks in fantastic nick and will probably ruck nearly the entire game. He will obliterate Mclean or Amartey if they are backing up Grundy and the clearances are going to be our most vulnerable area against Melbourne.
I don't want to gas Grundy so early in the season by having him play nearly the entire game when we have options.
I'd pick Ladhams this week.
It's only for one week. Collingwood the following week is completely different.
Just ignore them Eddie, if we lose, we lose - c’est la vie, if we are down 0-2 after 2 rounds - c’est la vie.I do but i'm hearing a lot of other fans saying we will be in for a rough day.

Feels like it'll definitely be between Sheldrick & Fox in the forward half (rotating mid vs pressure forward) and Roberts & Melican in the back half (rebounding type vs key defender)Possibly the biggest selection issue will be whether we select 3 tall backs (McCartin, Rampe and maybe/maybe not Melican). I think in turn that will hinge on whether Petty is selected for the Demons. There are very mixed messages emerging about Petty and the Demons are being very coy. Afl.com.au have predicted Petty will play and added this comment:
The Demons haven't ruled out Petty (toe) and Spargo (Achilles), but the premiership duo might be up against it after sitting out both pre-season games. Recruits, draftees, bolters: Who makes the cut for your club's first game?
If the Demons have only Schache and van Rooyen and no back up ruck, I don't think it makes sense to select all of McCartin, Rampe & Melican as well as Blakey and potentially Fox. A bit of ducks and drakes going on I reckon.
