We certainly don't have slogs on muddy grounds these days, so if the heaven's do open, game style may be the most critical element rather than who has the bigger bodies in close in contest after contest.

Giants are the highest handballing team in the competition, averaging 20 more per game than us.
We are marginally ahead on kicks and marks.
We are 5th for tackles per game, they are 15th.
Basically square in terms of clearances, although they lead contested possession.
Level in intercepts, although we turn the ball over more.
For all the talk about their fwd pressure, only 1 I50 tackle per game more by GWS.

Not easy to change game style from round to round so with us being a more kicking, higher tackling team compared to the Giants who handball far more, I think wet weather will be to our advantage.

The old adage of making a contest in the air in the fwd line and at the least bring the ball to ground will be important.

Guy I'll be looking to make an imprint in this game is Brodie Grundy.
Mentioned in his thread the other day he is second in the competition in terms of Contested possession as a % of overall possessions (only Matt Rowell is ahead).

Grundy for the 3 votes, Isaac may need to be content with just the 2 this week. Errol for the final vote (in the last 3 games v GWS, he's averaging 30 disposals, goal and a half, 7 I50s, 6 tackles and a somewhat slack 3 clearances).

And a win for the red and white.

For all the heavy rain predictions, my BOM says there’s a 50% chance of only 1mm of rain throughout the afternoon 🙏
But what does our expert Donza say?

That's pretty much what I wrote yesterday.
There are isolated heavy showers.
It's pure luck if they impact or not.

Most look to be hitting well after the game- most of the rain was yesterday
