Good pick-up.

I have:
D6/D7 Clohesy and Howes E
F6/F7 Darcy and Jones E

Maybe I should VC Gawn tonight and I can use Sweet to take it...

just realised if I hold Yeo I can use him - Bont into Naicos might be back on

see what tonight's teams reveal before finalising trade plans

For more flexibility with looping etc, I have to change my VC/ C

So, I'm going with:
VC Butters
C either Bont or Daicos (to be determined)
If port even make to the ground .

Wines said it's hard to get to from Melbourne airport.. 😂.

Left field option for me…

New bargain basement recruit Piggy VC tonight as we suck and never tag.

Bont or Naicos C if needed with the former firming if Piggy disappoints.

My captain and VC choices have failed all season so i strongly advise to steer clear of whatever shit house advice i offer! 🤦‍♀️🤣🤪

Might go Gawn VC after all due to needing Livingstone for my F6 loop.

Nothing has ever gone wrong, ever, when I've changed captaincy options on gameday.

Was going to go Maxy VC, but in this weather I might switch to Walshy.
Work out the C later if I have to
Disappointing negative scaling from 121 to 119 for Walsh. I'm so far behind I probably need to take a shot at Bont or Serong going better. Probably Bont

Just checked and I'm averaging 145.7 for my captains scores this year 😲

Carlton vs Rucks:

R0 Omac 77 (avg 81.7) -4
R1 Nank 137 (avg 102) +35
R3 Xerri 90 (avg 111) -21
R4 Jackson 91 (avg 100... he was solo ruck this game and still did average) -9
R5 ROB 99 (avg 82) +17
R6 Briggs 87 (avg 88) -1
R7 Stanley 54 (avg 67) -13
R8 Cameron 86 (avg 89) -3

Basically you're getting on average, an average score for a ruck vs Carlton.
Gawn vs Carlton historically averages -11 points below average vs Carlton and -1 below average at the MCG.
Factoring in all I'd be expecting Gawn to go, on average ~110-130.
Worth rolling the dice on as VC for sure.

Captain the more interesting one like usual.

I will be targeting Bont vs Richmond, like I did with Serong vs Richmond last week.

Richmond vs premo mids

Round 0: Rowell 137, Anderson 122, Touk 116
Round 1: Cripps 135
Round 2: Butters 175, Drew 144, Rozee 90
Round 3: Heeney 148, Gulden 73
Round 4: Steele 142
Round 5: Yeo 157, Kelly 129
Round 7: Petracca 93, Oliver 82 (both massively down on form)
Round 8: Serong 137, Young 130, Brayshaw 107.
Well I nailed the range for Gawn but unfortunately it was the bottom end of the range for and too low for VC.

Going to take a closer look at other premos for C option just in case there's a better option than Bont out there. Will report back kentys

Ended up putting the VC on Gawn in case I was stuck with trash E score. That didn't work.

Bont C it is. He loves playing against the Tigers, he has an insane avg score vs oppo with them.

Relevant Mids vs Geelong (Butters check):
R1: Steele 119
R2: Crouch 128, Laird 120, Dawson 96
R3: Worpel 150, Nash 106
R4: Liberatore 155, Bont 141
R5: Powell 98, LDU 87
R6: Neale 109, McCluggage 103, Dunkley 98
R7: Cripps 116, Walsh 104
R8: Oliver 141, Petracca 94

Butters should be a safe C if you have him. GMHBA is his best stadium with an average of 127.5 (only 2 games played though). Could genuinely see Butters going nuclear with Rozee out as the inside mids tend to destroy Geelong. Wish I owned him. I doubt O'Connor could keep up with Butters so wouldn't be worried about that.

Relevant Mids vs Sydney (Serong check):
R0: Petracca 108, Oliver 90
R1: Daicos 135, Pendle 98, De Goey 96
R2: Merrett 132
R3: Taranto 128
R4: Yeo 130
R6: Rowell 126, Touk 88, Anderson 50
R7: Worpel 96
R8: Kelly 95, Green 5 (injured, started bad tho)

Serong should be safe however I think there's very little chance he'd go higher than 135. Probably bank him for 120-130. Swans mids tend to eat up a lot of points so there's not as much to go around.

I didn't check Luke Ryan but I'd be careful as Jordon tagged Whitfield out of the game. Not sure you'd tag Ryan similarly, but Horse is a pretty good coach so who knows.

Mid-Fwd vs Freo (Heeney check):
R1: Dunkley 113, McCluggage 89
R2: Powell 129, LDU 105, Wardlaw 102
R3: Laird 111, Crouch 110, Dawson 68
R4: Hewett 103, Cripps 101
R5: Butters 130, Rozee 125, Wines 109
R6: H.Reid 147, Yeo 112
R7: Bont 102, Macrae 79
R8: Dusty 87

Hard pass for me on Heeney C. I mean its impossible to compare Heeney because he's very unique as a mid, but Freo mids steal too many points.

Steele vs Hawthorn:
Not checking due to Steeles injury concerns, doubt anyone has a big enough chol to do it even if data supported it.

Mid vs GWS (Merrett check):
R0: Daicos 131, Pendles 61, De Goey 43
R1: LDU 121, Powell 95
R2: Yeo 110, Kelly 88
R4: Rowell 129, Touk 89, Anderson 89
R5: Steele 143
R6: Cripps 142, Walsh 130
R7: Dunkley 120, McCluggage 74, Neale 71
R8: Heeney 109, Warner 100, Gulden 95

Merrett should be fairly safe to take vs GWS. Only 2 scores below 120 for the year (109, 108). However I would caution everyone that GWS is one of his historical worse teams to play against. I would probably avoid Merrett if you have someone like Bont, Butters or Serong.

Tom Green Vs Essendon:
Not checking due to injury concern but if for some reason you're crazy enough to consider it anyway... Durham destroyed Bont and he will probably go to Green.

Bont vs Richmond:
See previous comment in this thread.

Mids vs North (GC mids):

R1: Green 152, Kelly 116, Cog 113
R2: Serong 141, Brayshaw 123
R3: Cerra 128, Hewett 124, Cripps 100
R4: McCluggage 125, Neale 125 (subbed in 4th), Dunkley 122
R5: Bowes 104, Atkins 93
R6: Newcombe 129, Nash 121
R7: Laird 149, Dawson 127
R8: Sinclair 134, Wilson 126, Steele 112

Rowell is an absolute lock to go 130+ imo and a chance he goes 150+. I would C him and not think twice if I owned him. All contested mids demolish North, they have the worst contested possession differential in the league. Touk/Anderson could go big too but not worth the risk with their form.

Mids vs WCE (Naicos):
R1: Butters 117, Rozee 114, JHF 112
R2: T Green 137, Cog 93, Kelly 78
R3: Treloar 124, Bont 110
R4: Heeney 165, Gulden 129, Warner 96
R5: Bolton 129, Baker 97
R6: Serong 117, Brayshaw 83
R7: Anderson 151, Miller 149, Rowell 136
R8: Parish 148, Merrett 121

Naicos should be one of the best options for a free 120. I wouldn't expect him to go huge though. Most of the points vs West Coast are in the contested ball, outside users don't tend to do super well vs them.

Adelaide vs Brisbane

Skipping, don't think anyone's going to C anyone from this game ever even if stats support.

FINAL CAPTAIN ORDER:

1. Rowell. Lock him in for a mammoth score imo, wish I owned him this round. Expecting 130-160
2. Bont. Midfielders form vs Richmond is too good to pass up & Bevo under pressure. Expecting 120-150
3. Butters. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes nuclear vs Geelong, floor drops a little because of O'Conner possibilities otherwise he'd be above Bont. Expecting 110-160
4. Serong/Naicos. Not sure how to split these two, both should get 120 but I doubt they go higher. Expecting 120-130
5. Heeney. Expecting 90-130
6. Everyone else
