Though happily the Herald Sun have done the work and named the six teams. God love em



















Pleasing to see some pretty talented teams for NSWACT and QLDNT.

They did a mock of a tournament and had WA winning with a 5-0 record ahead of Vic at 4-1. Clearly doing their usual outrage click farming thing as it’s pretty obvious that Vic side would completely wipe the floor with the other 5 teams. 22 absolute stars.

I got halfway through making it and then realised they'd still get absolutely smashed by the Vic team.

FWIW I would have a three day carnival, rotating hosts

Thu night: QLD/NT v Tas (Game 3)

Fri night: NSW/ACT vs SA (Game 2)

Sat night: Vic vs WA (Game 1)

Winner of Game 1 wins the Cup.

Next carnival, it works a little like promotion and relegation. If you won Game 2 or Game 3 you go up. If you lost Game 1 or Game 2 you go down.

Tasmania would be smashed by 200 points.

I would personally split up Victoria to Vic Country and Vic Metro as I think that would be more interesting, but that is just me.

The Vics would slaughter them. It’s actually a real peak period for a theoretical Vic team, a bit like it was for WA a few years back when Franklin and Kennedy were kicking huge bags.

They wouldn’t always be this strong but the current Vic lineup would wipe the floor with the other states.

Not having a go, teams are pretty good. Just pretty sure Wilkie is SA not WA.

Not sure where the Wilkie WA link is from. Maynard was born in SA but probably qualified for Vic.

As soon as you introduce the "Allies", the concept is dead to half of the country. State of Origin is done.

Agreed. Also I think people on here and in the AFL community underestimate how good a NSW/ACT vs QLD/NT game would be for making AFL more popular in those states.

Show the people of NSW and QLD that we are producing top quality players and we can put together strong State of Origin teams and take advantage of the fact there is already a NSW and QLD rivalry.

It is not something the NRL can do as they can't make a Victorian State of Origin team as they don't have enough players in the NRL for it. The AFL does have enough players for QLD and NSW state of origin teams and it is something that should be highlighted by the AFL itself.

True, but even then it is hard to get accurate information, and I am guessing it was just one poor journalist trying to find out the information.

Vic team will have half the players unavailable due to not caring about it, which evens up the actual games against WA or SA. But there's some players in the non vic teams that are making up the numbers.

State of origin is dead. It was ok when the VFL was 12 teams and we'd see pre Carlton Kernahan playing. But since we went to a national competition there aren't those superstars who play outside the VFL (now AFL) system.

See, I think the players do care, and would love to do this lets say once every 3 years, but the clubs have too much power and they don't want it to happen.
