Yep animal. Just turned 16 and already physically too strong for his opponents 1-2 years older than him. Probably won't learn much at that level for too much longer. He's good enough for league now, but like to see him at least have a crack at reserves. AFL wise, he'll end up as that big bodied mid, sort of like a bigger version of Ryan Griffen. Not sure how tall he gets but 188cm now I'd suggest probably end up in the 191-193cm bracket.

Hard to see him not going pick 1 in 2025

Agree, liking this crop already, he'd have to be close to pick 1 if you ranked them now but often things do change a lot in 2 years!

Same.

The 2024-26 crops have me hooked.

2023 doesn't which is strange.

Love your work Davo but I’m a little shocked Duursma is not in your top 30

he was making bad decisions and errors a lot, he has the physicality and marking ability, but his disposal really stank at times and playing in defence that really hurt his game imo, if he fixes that area of his game he can rise which is why i had him in mentions, he was literally #31 on the list

Cute that the Duursma siblings (the ones I've heard of anyway) have the first initials W, X, Y and Z.
Willem wasn’t planned, they only planned on having 3 kids which is why they went the other way.

From those who watch and are involved in QLD footy, Jai Murray is considered the most talented QLD kid, followed by Beau Addinsall. Of the Lions kids, Bridge has debuted at QAFL level.

Interesting you have Dylan Patterson the most highly rated of the Northern Academy kids. I completely agree with you, but he hasn't had the fanfare of a few others but his upside is limitless and has been playing Senior footy for Palm Beach and not just making up the numbers, but genuinely contributing. Still hasn't turned 16 yet, as he is a September birth.

Think you have Geesu a bit high, he has talent - remains to be seen if he realises that talent and goes all in. Having jack Harrison at #30 is also an interesting call, another kid not getting the fanfare of others, but is just a really reliable footballer that can play anywhere down back, forward and through the middle. Very clean, smart and has great skills on his preferred side. rough not having Addinsall up there, but I think Jai Murray has gone backwards this year, falling behind his peers in output from what I've seen.

No Bridge in your mentions or Top 30, was player of the carnival at u15 nats last year and AA u16 this year. Has debuted at senior level, but his club are 1 win and bottom of ladder, so not a huge feather in the cap given where they are at. Whats your knock on him? I feel he lacks physicality and plays a bit selfish, but the fundamental skillset is elite.

Toby and Jacob Whan have to be brothers I reckon.
Must be. Both from Roleystone JFC up in the hills which is an unreasonably long distance from Fremantle Oval, but yet in the South Fremantle zone rather than Perth's.

Jacob, the tall-ish - sometimes dashing, sometimes dour right footed defender and Toby, the slick, evasive, shorter midfielder with the deadly left boot.

Two excellent prospects - if not for an AFL club - then certainly for Souths.

Not too far from Kelmscott and Armadale.

Correct! your knowledge of Perth's southern suburbs is on the money!

My dad and his wife live in nearby Mt Nasura and that’s the area I know of more comfortably than the rest of WA.

Well, apart from Scarbs, Trigg and Churchlands being in reasonably close proximity to each other.
