Despite drafting a range of tall's we didn’t recruit a pure ruckman and will still need a genuine Nankervis replacement. If Emmett or CDT prove to be out and out ruckmen rather than forwards they could fill a genuine need.

I’m a big believer in going best available with early picks but right now i think a ruckman and midfielder would be my preferred combo. Obviously in twelve months time we may have a totally different outlook though.
I still think it more likely Blair will target a ruck in a trade that already has 3 or 4 years development.

Jackson probably the last ruck to go super early and he's solid rather than spectacular.

Emmett does look a special talent and I did say in last draft thread that if we are going to use a 1st on a ruck (Dodson) we should wait a year for Emmett. He beat Dodson as a bottom ager and he would have won the 2km time trialnat combine this year. Runs a 5:50 or something ludicrous.

Totally appreciative of that mindset and I do agree it’s not overly common for ruckman to go very early, I have no issues if we do try and recruit a more senior or ready ruckman when the time comes.

CDT & Emmett are both very realistic top 3/5 picks at this point in time and with us likely to have two top five picks if the projections stay as they are i think there will be some very interesting conversations over the next year!

But Dodson gets a thousand possessions a game, he’s like an extra midfielder. 🙄

It’s a weird one. Will obviously have to play it on its merit, but a no.1 KP has to either be super special given the reluctance teams are having drafting KP early these days or the best mid in class is Will Phillips quality.

i think if clubs are desperate for our pick 1 then I’d rather the KP player.
I tend to agree on just taking the best player even if it's a tall as we can always use the other pick for more balance. Either way, it's good to have options and I don't think we need to be worried about a tall being the clear #1 pick. We should be able to make the most of the situation.

Interesting to see th the deal for the Simms pick was essentially two second rounders (ours coming back and then theirs)

Our trading would of ended up with North as a net
Richmond out: 27
Richmond in: North 2025 First and Second

I have a feeling that we took pity on Rawlings and decided not to do the deal because watching them make bad decisions is better the longer it goes on.

**** me you get into deep dark parts of this site. Had to go through the posting history to work out the joke.

The campaigner doesn’t work. He’s convinced his employer that he does, gets paid and just shite posts. If there was a draft on that criteria he’d be top 2

Unfortunately wasting leave to shit post currently 😒

Greeves & Sharp for me, will complete our midfield, then we can draft & pick up FA to fill the gaps. As I have said I would of picked up Dodson this season to allow Nank to retire in the next few years.

The fourth of the Duursma clan is another elite prospect with potential to be the best of the brood. The tallest of the siblings, he's rangy and athletic, capable of playing any role on the footy field from key position, wing or on ball.

Sorry mate can’t do it after we stuffed it up their jumper in the prelim

They seem to be a bit lippy. TT is going to chime in with something “funny” now . Which proves my point.

Special indeed, moves too well to be wasted in the ruck IMO.

There was a few bottom aged players at the Chargers this year that went well but he was the pick of them.

Interested to see how Sam Grlj goes as he showed some real dash this year.

The other from OC is a smoky I'll throw out there nice and early, Max Kondogiannis.
A real nice mover with neat skills who looks like he could play any part of the ground.

You'd make it to 3rd round and we'd pass

Looks like a real smooth mover but his kicking in that clip is shithouse. Is he usually that bad by foot?

Plenty in here won't want him just cos he's a Duursma.

It's a no from me.
