Keen for us to over correct our list balance as we always do and like we have in the past with inside mids/wingmen and NQR Key forwards. This year I hope we over correct with small forwards.
No point spending big on quality Key Forwards, when we refuse to get the ball quickly to them.

Just ask Weideman, or any others in the past 7 yrs. None of them have done any good, except when playing high up-field.

We were at our best when we had both TMc and Pederson roaming around as 2nd rucks, And pushing back into F50 to chop out our deep forwards.
This created mismatches for us from the centre-line forward.

If we want our talls to mark the ball inside F50, then we have to zip the ball forward.

Reckon we are in a decent spot re trading F25, especially if White comes on to be a top 20 prospect at draft time.

This year feels like our last shot to contend, if everything goes right, with this list.

Next year onwards, need to hit the draft some more.

"A lot would have to go wrong for him to not end up in purple."

Wild to say nine months out from trade period when he's contracted until the end of 2027. It is The West Australian though, lol.

Didn't they basically workout Jackson was leaving right at the start of 22 aswell?

Incredible failure by the club if we lose Kozzy. Would mean we've had two generational talents from the same draft walk out the door. Also leaves a massive hole in our small forward stocks.

Aware we'd get something good for him as he is contracted for two more years after this one, but if he goes I hope we've had a crap season and we can full reset with a new coach.

About then I think. He was uncontracted though.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does leave; however, calling it a sure thing this early is a bit silly IMO. Melbourne can simply say no.

Nothing's ever sure but if the noise around him trying to leave last year was right and we held him against his will essentially once already then I can see why if nothing's changing they're pretty confident

Kozzy contracted until 2027. Hopefully we don’t get bent over like port did with Houston. I don’t think we will. Jackson got 2 x firsts and it’s probably what we’ll be looking at. Start at 3 firsts I guess.
It’s a players market now. They get where they want to go but the clubs got to start pushing back and I think the port footy boss was getting at after the Houston trade. But geez I’m surprised they didn’t hold on to him unless they got more.

Couldn't believe Port let Houston go for that. I wonder if they promised him they'd let him go assuming Melbourne would give them a good deal, but when we collapsed it opened up the market and Port got screwed. If I was Port I would have said you can go to North or stay with us.

'Something would have to go wrong for him not to land in purple in 2025' or whatever it is just sensationalism gutter journalism stuff. He is contracted so Melbourne could easily say no. Look there might be something there but there's a reason why people hate journalists.

What if the deal with kozzie when he stayed was give us one more season cause we think we can challenge and then we'll listen?

It's easier living outside of Oz but I don't get that riled up over journalist trade rumours. It's pretty easy to sort through the complete guesses and then the ones with smoke.

With Jackson and Houston and others it wasn't if they were going home it was when. With everything at our club him being more likely to leave than stay really wouldnt surprise me at all

I don't think we'll get much for him, it won't be like the Jackson trade, probably just the 1 first rounder. Would rather keep him considering Fremantle look like a team that's heading up not down but the silver lining is getting back into the draft next year.
