It's easier living outside of Oz but I don't get that riled up over journalist trade rumours. It's pretty easy to sort through the complete guesses and then the ones with smoke.

With Jackson and Houston and others it wasn't if they were going home it was when. With everything at our club him being more likely to leave than stay really wouldnt surprise me at all

I'm not riled up, I ignore most of the footy media. I'm just saying that sort of language is just sensationalism. I accept that there's something to the story as it was reported during last year's trade period.

My point is it may not be sensationalism, it's not difficult to see a world where he goes

Couldn't believe Port let Houston go for that. I wonder if they promised him they'd let him go assuming Melbourne would give them a good deal, but when we collapsed it opened up the market and Port got screwed. If I was Port I would have said you can go to North or stay with us.

Yep. They should have held firm. Chris Davies was really contradictory in his presser after they trade. Said they were happy with the deal. Next sentence spoke about player managers having too much power or something along those lines.

I don't think we'll get much for him, it won't be like the Jackson trade, probably just the 1 first rounder. Would rather keep him considering Fremantle look like a team that's heading up not down but the silver lining is getting back into the draft next year.

We’ll have to get a good deal. Not only is he a bloody good player but he is contracted for the next 3 seasons. Freo is certainly better now than when we traded Jackson. But we couldn’t just accept a pick 15 for him or something.

I think we are in agreement there, no doubt there's a story there but saying something is a sure thing is sensationalism imo.

Freos cap will be tight. But they free up a bit of cash with Fyfe and Walters coming out of contract. But Brayshaw also is coming out of contract. They have signed up a few players to long deals so not sure how they have structured those deals. But assume the cap will still be tight.

I think it's completely reliant on the year he has. Never been AA and never been top 3 BNF. We all know how good he is/ could be but it's gonna be really hard to get top price if he has another up and down year.

If he has a shit year sure, but he's contracted until end of 2027 so it just depends on how hard the club wants to make the deal. Would help if he stops being suspended though.

Yes an no, if he already agitated for a move last off season and we held him to contract and he spends the whole year wanting to go again we aren't gonna hold him. We should, but AFL clubs don't do that. They'll trade him and if Freo have a good year it's not gonna be for what we want as fans.

I think only Bolton. They were linked to a few players which probably doesn’t help remembering who actually got there haha

Bit weird it's written like it's a sure thing that a contracted player is gone in January. Unless the club is already in talks with Freo I'm not reading much into it. Kozzy's apparently had a foot out the door for what three years running now? Apparently homesick for two different cities?

We will demand overs, thank **** we have the most form on the AFL right now holding players to contract and backing ourselves to sort it out (Oliver, Trac, Petty).

Behind closed doors we probably have also held Kozzy also, so Freo know they will need to stump up to move the dial otherwise we stay consistent and hold him to contract like we did the others.

I'll bring intrigued to whether if he does request a trade whether we hold him or not.. get a good deal now or wait to free agency?
